As I walked home, my initial happiness fizzled out and was quickly replaced with anger. How dare he tell me to become like father James? Like a priest? Preposterous. As I got into the house, Yap rushed to meet me, but I sidestepped him and shot upstairs. I shook my head trying to rid it of the red cloud of anger rising inside of me. My normal routine when I got home would have been to remove my clothes and drape them on the chair, then take a bath. After that I would walk into the kitchen and rustle something up to eat, instead I removed my clothes, threw them on the floor and lay on the bed, my chest heaving with the exertion of trying to stave off my anger.
