I was still holding Darren as she cried, when a woman and a man rushed towards us. Immediately the woman set eyes on Darren, she rushed to her and wrenched her out of my arms. “Where’s Jordan, where’s my baby?” Darren’s eyes widened in fear and shock. She stared at the woman as if seeing her for the first time, so I walked up to the man and introduced myself. I told him Jordan was in the room behind us. Even before I finished speaking, he dashed past me and into the room that we had not even entered yet. The woman stopped harassing Darren about her son, and ran after her husband into the room. Darren rushed into my arms once more as fresh tears spilled down her cheeks. We stayed this way until Jordan’s father came out of the ER and rushed past me. Darren still clung to me, a bit quieter
