Klara’s POV
“You can go upstairs if you want,” Raphael said, glancing over his shoulder at me. “My room is the second door on the left.”
I nodded. “Okay.”
“Make yourself comfortable.”
I smiled and headed upstairs. I wasn’t sure why I felt nervous. Maybe it was because everything about tonight felt different. Raphael’s house, Owen knowing my secret, the kiss at school, the anonymous messages everything seemed to be piling up at once.
When I reached Raphael’s room, I looked around. It was exactly what I expected from him. Spacious, neat, and effortlessly expensive without looking as though he’d tried too hard. I dropped my bag onto the chair and noticed an adjoining bathroom. I suddenly realized how tired I was, so I decided to take a quick bath while I waited for him.
The lights were low, and the soft glow from a few candles danced across the walls. Moonlight spilled through the window, turning everything silver. I sat before the mirror, slowly detangling my hair, when I heard the door open.
I looked up, and Raphael stood there. For a moment, neither of us spoke.
“You came.” The smile that appeared on my face felt impossible to stop, and his expression softened. There was something about the way he looked at me that made my heart beat faster.
“How was the cooking?” I asked, with the same soft tone.
“Good.” That was all he said.
I turned back toward the mirror, suddenly very aware of the silence between us.
“Raphael?”
“Hmm?”
“Why are you so quiet?”
He didn’t answer immediately. When I looked at him again, his eyes were fixed on mine. Something shifted between us. The playful ease we’d shared downstairs disappeared, replaced by something heavier. Something neither of us seemed brave enough to name.
He took a slow step toward me, and my heart skipped. Then another. I remained where I was, watching him approach until he stopped a short distance away.
“Klara,” he said quietly. There was a warning in his voice.
“What?”
He looked away for a moment, as though trying to gather his thoughts. “I don’t think you realize what you’re doing to me.”
My breath caught. I didn’t know what to say.
He looked back at me, and suddenly the room seemed much smaller. “I should probably leave,” he murmured.
“Why?”
“Because I don’t trust myself to make the right decision when I’m this close to you.”
His honesty surprised me. Instead of frightening me, it made me understand just how serious the moment had become. But I decided to step closer.
“Then don’t make a decision.”
His eyes met mine. For several seconds, we simply stood there. Then he reached for my hand, his fingers closing gently around mine. The gesture was surprisingly tender. I smiled, and he smiled back. And somehow, that was all it took.
He leaned closer, giving me enough time to pull away, but I didn’t. Our lips met in a soft, hesitant kiss. It wasn’t like the kiss at school. There were no cameras, no judgment. It was just us. When we pulled apart, neither of us spoke. I could hear my own heartbeat.
Raphael rested his forehead against mine.
“This is a bad idea,” he whispered as he used his eyes to scan the length of my body, taking in every detail. I was in a small white towel and wearing nothing underneath.
I felt my cheeks flush as his gaze moved over me, the intensity in his eyes clearly telling me that he liked what he saw. Slowly, he lifted his gaze to mine, and our eyes locked. Heat blazed from the depths of them, warming me from the inside, drawing me to him like gravity. I found myself taking a few steps forward but stopped, afraid he would draw back but he didn’t.
Instead, he stalked toward me, slowly, his eyes never leaving mine. It took all my strength to stand still and not run away or fall to my knees. I don’t know what it was about him, about the way he moved or the way he looked at me, that made me both frightened and excited at the same time.
I forgot to breathe as he neared and stood right before me, so close I could feel the warmth of his body wrapping itself around me like a blanket, making me yearn to be in his arms. As if he knew what I wanted, he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close. His hold around my waist tightened, pressing our bodies together, while his free hand grabbed my hair roughly and brought my face dangerously close to his. I closed my eyes, waiting for him to kiss me as roughly as he grabbed me, but I felt the softest brush of his lips on mine, sending shivers down my spine. Then another soft brush, and my breath hitched.
He was making me wait, but I didn’t want to wait. I wanted him. I needed him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, but before I could press my lips to his, he pulled my hair and tilted my head back.
“Patience, Klara. I want to savor this moment.” His tone was like a hot wave against my throat.
I clung to him, unable to stand on my own as his lips skillfully moved over my throat, kissing and nibbling. His hands moved down my back, grabbed onto my hips, and pushed me even harder into his body as if I wasn’t close enough. His scent wrapped itself around my mind, making me unable to think. I was lost, drowning in an ocean of pleasure. I felt myself float on air, my feet no longer touching the ground, and suddenly I lay on the bed with Raphael on top of me, pinning my hands above my head. Desire and hunger blazed through his eyes, and he crashed his lips on mine. His kiss was raw, intense, sending a wave of heat through my body. His hands slipped under my dress and caressed me to heights that were both frightening and arousing.
Raphael's kisses turned from sweetly intense to painfully intense, almost bruising my lips. Before I could protest, he aggressively removed the small towel that was resting on my bosom and stopped above my thighs.
“Raphael…” I began breathlessly as I pushed him away.
Raphael had no time to think of what was happening as he was consumed by the desire that pulsated through him. Slowly, he drew back and took his shirt off while studying my face. My cheeks were flushed, and my eyes were hooded with desire. I knew he could hear the fierce pounding of my heart as my gaze traveled down his bare upper body.
Knowing that I wanted to touch him, he took my hand and placed it on his chest. I hesitated for a moment, but then my hands slowly began to explore his body. I ran my hands down his chest, stomach, up his arms and shoulders, my eyes showing nothing but admiration as I touched him. Then my fingers traveled down his spine, and he groaned with pleasure. Although he was in a sweet agony, he waited patiently, letting me satisfy my curiosity and get acquainted with his body. When I was done, it was his turn.
He pressed his body intimately into mine, holding me down with his hips while his lips claimed mine in a kiss. His tongue swept across my lower lip, and I writhed beneath him, creating a sweet friction that made him groan deep in his throat. Knowing the effect it had on me, he repeated the deed, and I moaned in response.
Further, removing the towel completely smoothly, he began to explore my body using his hands, lips, and tongue. He savored the feel and taste of my skin, relished the sound of my moans.
“Raphael!” I gasped as he grazed his finger down my inner thighs, coaxing shivers out of me. He did the same thing again, but this time with his tongue, making me quiver uncontrollably. He couldn’t help but smile at my reaction as he continued teasing me with his lips and tongue.
“Raphael, please…” I said breathless as my hands fisted in his hair, bringing his face to hers.
He gave me the kiss I wanted, and I kissed him back with a hunger that both surprised him and aroused him to an excruciating level. His hand slid between my thighs, and I cried out in pleasure as he touched sensitive, aching flesh. I was his now, and Raphael wanted to show me no other man could make love to me like he was going to do.
I was mindless, nearly breathless as Raphael's hand stroked me slowly, rhythmically, making the pressure in the pit of my stomach increase with every stroke. I dug my fingers into his hair as the feeling became overwhelming, making my muscles tighten, and then a spasm went through my body, and my head fell back with a cry. I just lay there, my body limp, astonished by what just happened. Whatever it was, I didn’t want it to end.
“This is just the beginning, love,” Raphael whispered in my ear. And then the kissing and stroking began, and my body was on fire once again. Raphael grabbed my hips, and I felt a sharp pain, but it was only brief. Next came the incredible feeling, our skin moving together, the friction igniting a f
ire that burned to my core. Yes, I was on fire. A fire that no amount of water could quench.
