Chapter 5 Striding down the street toward a café he’d passed the previous day, Kurt did some mental math. If everything else went according to plan, they could hope for a rendezvous with their pickup in sixty to seventy hours. At least Mike had fully regained consciousness and been fairly lucid. The vertigo though…that worried Kurt. His thoughts took a brief scary excursion into worst-case scenarios. What if Mike was actually bleeding inside his skull? Worst case, he could die.
