AUTHOR’S POV
Ryder laid almost spineless on the ground of the path that he and Liza had just been walking on their way to the picnic. His mind conscious but his body was not, his anger coursing through him in waves as guilt filled his heart at his inability to protect his mate. This was the second time in the past few months that he had been filled with this amount of anger with himself.
His head spinning as he tries to sit up in an attempt to make it back to the castle and inform the guards and his beta to send out in search of his mate. He’s oblivious to the things around him since his eyes are still quite blurred and as he attempts to stand to his feet his legs give out beneath him but rather than fall into the ground he’s hoisted by a pair of arms wrapped around him.
