Stubble crusted his jaw, his whole frame drooping with exhaustion, yet his face trembled with raw excitement. The second his gaze landed on me, though, those tired eyes blazed to life. "Thank god you're back." He grinned at me, and his eyes turned red at the corners. "It's such a relief you're home. I… I thought you'd never want this ancestral home back anymore.
