Chapter two: what do you wish for

Mariels pov

The way that she glared at him, she was angry, “the queen wouldn't like to be kept waiting you know" I tried to chime in, as he just looked at me, he wasn't someone who always laughed, he just nodded, and let go of her hand, as she bolted out of her room quickly, you coukd tell it was to get away from Tristan.

I followed her as closely as I could, then we finally arrived the queens chambers, “there you are my dear Misha have a seat" the queen said affectionately towards her, Misha didn't say a word she just obeyed the queen, while I stood at the part where the other maids stood.

The orb that had been glowing white, finally revealed three people standing at the bank of a river, from the way the river was you could tell that it was connectes to this ocean, I didn't recognize the two fellows there but I knew the third one, she was one of our messengers who helped in manipulating the people on land to make a wish on the queen, so that she could demand something from them later.

The queen gave you everything you want but tJes something more precious to you and as a result a lot of people are skeptical for making a request from the ocean queen, but those two seemed so desperate, that they could do anything, we all heard his wish even though he didn't voice it out.

“I wish that my wife would have a child of her own" he said in his heart, sore pained, “you all heard him he needs a child, so who do we send to him as his child?" The queen said smiling happily, because she had finally gotten another naive individual.

“id like to go mother" Misha said startling everyone including me, “misha you are the next in kine for the throne it is not wise for you to go out there, when you have a kingdom that awaits your rulership", the queen said, “the Hunan's on land night be unpredictable, they sometimes can be dangerous, but still mother I'm still fascinated with them, I want to walk amongst them with those feet of theirs can't you just grant me this wish please mother* she begged

The look on Tristan's face woukd tell you that he was about to blow up any minute, “nevee has it been heard that a princess heir to the throne is allowed to go into the midst of humans, it's not done, if you were to send someone your highness it should be Mariel, she us supposed to keep watch over the princess but yet yesterday the princess swam up to the surface of the ocean yesterday!!" There was a lot of gasp coming from the others present.

I was shaken no doubt he had overheard our conversation, I could get severely punished for this, I thought as I gulped continuously, “its not her fault I went out on my own if you were to punish someone let it be me" the princess said trying to defend me, it warmed my heart but I knew the kind of woman that our queen was, she wasn't going to forgive me that easily. “every one prepare yourselves for the ritual, we are going to send Mariel to those Humans who needs a child" the queen said I was sad, this was going to be my punishment, I could see Tristan smile happily, Misha wasn't happy her countenance wasn't bright. I just breathed in accepting my fate.

Authors pov

The orb was open it was big enough for a person to be placed inside of it. A lady could be seen swimming towards the orb, her face was covered as was the custom of the people in the ocean, she crawled into the orb and laid inside of it, then the queen started changing some words that wasn't understandabke to regular humans.

After a while the orb transparent door was closed shut nside the orb, and the atmosphere had started to get tense as the lady was about to leave the water, the water was restless and the sea raged this rage caused the veil over the lady's face to lift up and it revealed Misha instead of Mariel, Tristan was the first to notice it, h swam immediately to the orb, “stop the ritual, it not Mariel!!!" He said as he got to the transparent glass orb and tried trying it open.

He took a really good look inside it was Misha, when the queen saw it she wasnt happy but she didn't try to open it, “triatan it has already been done it cant be undone," the queen just said he kept in hanging in the door, angrily, “misha come out here now!" He yelled with his voice thundering but she didn't care, there was a bright light it was so bright that it temporarily blinded everyone.

Tristan wasn't happy he reasoned that Misha would now be an infant so he couldn't even try to expect to marry him any time soon, she had to wait for her and he was determined to wait and claim his bride when the time was right.

But in the meantime he was going to kill Mariel for switching places with Misha and causing so much pandemonium.

Mariel's pov 2 hours before the ritual

“you are being sent to the human world because of me, but you don't have the desire to go, how about I take your place" Misha said to me,

“i can't ask you to do that my princess"

“you didn't ask I offered" she said still staring at me,

“even if you take my place princess once they find out that we tricked them they'll kill me"

“my mom lived in the surface world once, when her Ather was the king, she had an amulet that gets rid of her tail and gives her legs as long as she has it on, if I could get that amulet and give it to you, you could still leave this place and live a normal life up there and still have your memories of this place". She said.

I reasoned it, since she'll be a baby she wouldn't remember anything about the ocean except someone from her past, meets with her and forces the memory back in her head.

“princess you are my only friend, if we do this we may never meet each other again," I said as tears started to well in my eyes,

“im counting on that if I meet you later in the future, I would get this memories way quicker, and that will make finding me easier, so even if you find me don't come near me alright" Misha said also teary eyes, we hugged and our tears were carried of by the ocean.

She swam into her mother's chambers and got the amulet, handing it over to me, she took a veil and covered her face and I was swimming away as she was going towards the orb, “good bye princess,' I muttered under my breath, as I was heading out of the jurisdiction of our kingdom, I swam as fast as I could because I knew that it wouldn't take too long before they figured out what had happened, even though the veil, covered her face and hair, it still wasn't enough to last for the long run.

I had gotten a good distance away from the Kingdom I started wondering what my new life was going to look like, and I was also anxious for the princess I hope that she succeeds, a bright light could be seen it illuminated the entire ocean, I was exhausted, the swim was too long, I started feeling dizzy, I put on the amulet and finally I dozed off.

Authors pov

It's been a few months now and Mrs Chester hasn't been feeling well, she threw up ever so often and she was experiencing mood swings ever so often, Mr Chester wondered what could be the cause of wifes ailment although he was suspecting that she was... No thwy had to be sure first he didn't want to raise his hopes high only to dash them later, ahe could just have had something that wasn't agreeing with her.

All through the ride to the hospital, there as been an uncomfortable silence in the car, they got there and series of tests were run for her and finally the doctors came up with a diagnosis, “mr frank your wife is 3 weeks pregnant".......
