“You can choose other part-time jobs; being a stripper isn't much fun.” Elsie tried to convince Lenora as they slid out of the cab that evening. “Why are you so adamant on making me change my mind? I really want to do this.” Lenora frowned as she followed Elsie into the building. Lenora was supposed to meet her boss, who was popularly known as Madam G, a strict woman who is only interested in ideas that make more money. “Like I said earlier, be yourself and don't let her intimidate you.” With that, Elsie placed a knock on the door, which was answered immediately. The air reeked of smoke and alcohol as they walked in. Madam G was seated, her legs crossed on the table while she puffed the cigarette in between her fingers. She raised an eyebrow when they entered, obviously curious as to why they were in her office. “Take a seat.” Her voice was firm. “I recognize you but not you.” She motioned towards Lenora, who was waiting to answer every question she threw at her. “I want to be one of your girls.” Lenora pressed further, but Madam G's expression was unreadable. “Stand up!” she commanded. Lenora rose to her feet as Madam G took a quick scan of her body before letting her take the seat. She cleared her throat. “I believe your friend must have explained what we do here at the club, so I'm going to ask you a few questions. Firstly, why do you want to work here?” Her unwavering gaze fixed on Lenora. Lenora spared Elsie a glance before turning to face Madam G. “For the money. This is the only place I can make a good amount within days.” She replied honestly, but a larger part of her knew she wanted the job for distraction, to get her mind off Tyler. “What makes you think you're different from the dozen of girls who tried and quit last month?” “I don't break easily, Madam G. You won't regret letting me be one of your girls.” Madam G mustered a smile that disappeared immediately. She could sense that Lenora might be able to make a lot of money for the club, especially when Lenora was pretty and curvy. Madam G took out some papers from her drawer, passing them to Lenora. “I need your legal name, age, and other necessary information. This will not be shared with anyone, just me. The other documents contain the club rules.” She slowly rose to her feet. “I will let you work here, but first, you will have to watch how the girls command the room, and then by tomorrow morning, please let me know if you're up for it. Shall we head out now?” “Thank you so much, Madam G. I won't disappoint you.” Lenora grinned; it was not her best kind of job, but she needed it anyway. Besides, she wasn't going to let any man touch her without her consent. As they left Madam G’s office, they moved through the hallway leading to the main entrance of the club. Lenora could hear the boisterous sound of the music playing, and her heels came to a halt the moment she walked in. Her eyes darted around the room, the air smelling like perfume and a touch of alcohol. She lingered her gaze on a lady dancing on stage with confidence while the blue light shined on the pole behind her. Suddenly, a lady walked up to Madam G, whispering something in her ears. She tilted her head towards Elsie before declaring. “Keep an eye on your friend; make sure she gets familiar with the place before tomorrow.” Then she left. “Does the place get this crowded every day?” Lenora inquired curiously. “It is much crazier during the weekend. A lot of naughty stuff happens here, and I still can't get over the fact that the club was named ‘Sin City.” Elsie whispered. “Who is he?” Lenora questioned, her eyes hovering on the tall, handsome man walking gracefully alongside Madam G. “That's Mr. Kieran Elias Montclair.” Elsie whispered with admiration, and Lenora could swear she had heard that name before. “Unfortunately, he is off-limits.” She added with a sad countenance. “Why?” Lenora arched her brows. “He never lets any lady come close to him besides Madam G. Sometimes I wonder why he comes to the club.” He sounded like a mystery man yet interesting to Lenora. “Got to go, I need to get ready for the stage.” Elsie rushed out. Curiosity got the best of Lenora after Elsie left, and then she decided to give herself a tour, only to accidentally walk into a room she wasn't supposed to. Her eyes fell on the bar, and she moved there, demanding a glass of liquor. “Does Madam G know you're here?” The bartender queried with a raised brow, a hint of curiosity in his tone. “Of course,” Lenora lied; he gave her an unsatisfied look but passed the glass of liquor to her. After emptying her glass for the third time, she rose to her feet, her eyes glancing around the room until they fell upon that one man who seemed to be staring right in her direction. ‘That must be Mr. Montclair.’ She thought internally. Lenora began to walk towards him, her eyes not straying even for a second. “Mind if I join you?” She muttered, a smile on her face as she sat next to him on the couch. “You're not supposed to be here.” His deep baritone voice sent chills down her spine. Lenora looked up at him, tempted to run her finger through his defined features. Chiseled jawline. Round lips. Blue, captivating eyes. He seemed older, but his face looked like it had stopped aging when he was in his thirties. “You're not supposed to be drinking alone. Look around you; everyone has a partner.” “I don't need your company.” His words were slightly cold, but Lenora had no plans of leaving him alone, thanks to the courage she got from a few glasses of liquor. She placed her hand on his chest, but he pulled it away instantly, their eyes boring into each other's. “How drunk are you? Do you always cling to a stranger whenever you're drunk?” Kieran was beginning to regret not letting his bodyguard follow him. Lenora moved closer to him. “Kiss me!” She whispered, barely audible, but he heard every word. His brows knit together, followed by an unreadable expression. Ignoring her request, he grabbed his phone, trying to call someone, but she stopped him. “Just a kiss, that's all I'm asking. Let me feel your lips on mine. I want to be that girl who breaks the barrier with you. Will you let me kiss you?” She blinked her lashes, staring keenly into his dangerous yet captivating blue eyes while waiting for him to decide whether he was going to kiss her or not.
