8 Brahma  I quickly got out of this room. Very quickly. I had to figure out what the hell that was. Somehow, I had this foreboding feeling about it. A feeling that made me feel like…I knew exactly what the hell that thing was…but what it was…it was terrible. It was making me shake my head. I couldn’t confront it, wouldn’t confront it. Before I knew it thought. I shuddered what I felt was true. What I felt this thing was. “Shiva,” I shuddered when I was thinking about this. But it couldn’t be. Right? Shiva? Here? In Glycol? I was thinking about that for a minute before my gauntlet buzzed. I nearly jumped out of my skin. It took me a solid minute to realize it was a call. I opened it and saw someone I wasn’t expecting. “Pops?” I asked. The old man was staring at me as if he was admonishing me for something I shouldn’t have done. I always had found his face when he had this look super humorous. It was hilarious because I remember there was a dog I had seen back in my school days, in the off world animal studies. It came from Blito 3 in the constellation of the Lion. I forgot the name of it was something like pomegranate? Anyways the name wasn’t important what was important was the fact the dog was covered with fur on its face and the face that my old man made when he had this sort  of look always reminded me of that dog. “So ye’ve seen him,” the old man said. “Him?” I asked. The old man stayed silent. “You mean you know about that thing?!” I asked. “Be quiet boy,” the old man yelled. I was still a bit shaken by the thing in the chamber I nearly jumped when he yelled. “Of course, we know about that thing,” the old man said. “Pops what the f**k is that?” I asked. “I believe you already know,” the old man said. I could only nod. It felt like the only thing I could do in that situation was nod. “He has not been awakened yet, and the fact that they have him lying around like that means they don’t plan on awakening him yet.” The old man said. “And that is the only thing we have going to our advantage for now.” “Advantage?!” I asked. “Aye,” the old man said. Suddenly my body felt ice cold. I realized something, well…re-realized something. If the old man is saying that he has not been awakened yet. That meant something that meant that this thing in that chamber was not actually Shiva, per say. At least not the way I thought he was originally. “That’s the avatar?!” I said. “Aye,” the old man said. “And you knew it’s been sitting there?” I asked. “It is to our advantage we know this,” The old man said. “Advantage?” I asked again. “How about blowing this piece of s**t Glycol to kingdom come before that piece of s**t wakes up? That would give us an advantage.” There was a pause. “Listen Marxus there is more pressing matters at hand.” The Old man said. “More pressing? The piece of s**t Avatar of f*****g Shiva is in a f*****g tube in this building! Isn’t that what you are trying to prevent?!” I said. “It is,” the old man said. “Then why not blow this place to kingdom come!?” I asked. “Think about it boy,” the old man said. “What good would it do to kill him now? Then what? What makes you think that, that thing in the room doesn’t trigger the real Avatar of Shiva, that would automatically awaken if this one is destroyed? Then what?” I stopped and thought about that for a minute. Though I thought that something worse than that thing in the chamber was impossible. There was enough of a lingering doubt in my mind to make me second guess myself and my conclusion. “So what is the plan with that thing?” I asked after a minute or so. “The one thing we are sure about it is that they can’t awaken him, not yet anyways.” The old man said. I had this thought he was holding back information. “Did you see the rest of the book?” I stopped and tried to remember if I had ever told him about the book. I couldn’t remember if I had or not. However, there was one thing I did know, Hanuman knew I had it somehow. This meant that logically the old man probably knew I had it as well. I reflected over that for a minute or two. “Not entirely,” I said finally. “I would reflect upon it boy,” the old man said. “That book is key to a lot of things.” “Pops do you know who wrote that thing?” I asked. “Aye,” the old man said. “What?!” I said shocked. “Who?” “You know him as Thoth.” The old man said. “Thoth?” I said. I do remember the legend of Thoth. Thoth was this ancient god of scribes he was thought to have all the knowledge of all the cosmos in all the worlds. To think that a simple children’s book could be from Thoth himself. “Aye,” the old man said. “Thoth put a lot of things into books or documentation, he was trusted to do so. Even after the fall of the Star Builders.” “So, Thoth was a survivor,” I said, and the old man only nodded. “Pops how many of you survived the purge?” “Too few,” the old man said simply. “I can count at least 5 now that you mentioned Thoth, including yourself.” I said. “Boy do you remember what Rudra did in the legend before coming here?” The old man asked. His voice was low and very serious all of the sudden. I paused and thought about that for a minute. I remember not far from here, not far from here at all there was a legendary library that was said to reside in the constellation of Aquilar, specifically near the star of Altair, I believe the actual star was called Terazed. The Terazeds from what I remember were a type C civilization, one that could at least make it to their parent star and colonized their system but other than that they didn’t get any further. However, they safeguarded this library for years, and kept it safe. That was until Rudra, an avatar of Shiva came there. It was said that Rudra became furious that such a library existed that contained all the knowledge in the universe. So, Rudra destroyed it. This however reminded me of something else. The last Avatar of Shiva, Avadhut, from what I remember, he was summoned into some sort of effigy of some sort. Like a statue with armor or something like this that was apparently made in his image or some bullshit like that. This thing in the chamber did not look alive, at least not alive in the sense that I understood, it was almost like a statue, but a living statue. No, it was…an Android, and that was when I realized how my earlier task given to me by Rossa Redd fell into place. I was still discovering things that put me into the middle of things. That second villain that Rossa Redd believed was involved in her father had veered his evil head yet again: Norman Hunraken. I smacked my forehead. “Before you react to your train of thought, you must look at the book boy.” The old man said. “There is a reason why we are not acting now, however you need see fer yourself.” With that the old man’s face was gone. I looked back at the room I walked in. The blackness still surged out of it. I thought about blowing this place to kingdom come again. Then I remember what my old man said. What if doing that wakes up something worst?
