We returned soaked to the hotel. To our surprise, when we arrived, there were so many footprints, which only meant that other guests had also come running back from where they were. We laughed like children as if the whole thing was a great adventure not to be missed. We took a shower, and the weather cooled down. Fortunately, there were seasonal changes of clothes in the hotel itself.
I walked out onto the balcony and watched the rain fall. It was already falling heavily. From where I stood, I could see the square and some movement in the city. There was no one in the square; everyone had simply disappeared. The weather was nice, perfect for a good hot chocolate. If we hadn't already been asleep, we'd be doing that right now.
