Chapter 9

Javier woke up the next determined to find out what had happened to the letters his wife left and sent for him five years ago. Mel had proceeded to him that she had also called him a few times too but Paola had answered the calls and told his wife that he did not want to talk to her. He cursed the day he ever rehired that woman. He had spent the whole night holding Mel. As if that would fill up the ache in his heart for what she went through alone.

He picked up his phone and asked his head of security to be in his office. A few minutes passed and Marco came inn.

"Sir,you called."

"Yes Marco. I need you to investigate what happened with the letters my wife sent years ago. I want to know who received them."

"Yes Sir. I will get right on it." Marco replied and instantly left.

Javier was left with his thoughts again. He would not spare the person who had kept the letters. He knew he was delaying confessing his feelings to his wife. He also knew that Mel wanted to hear those words from him but for some reason he gets stuck. He could not tell her,he doesn't know how to even say the the 'L' word. Immature he knew. Who would believe that the billionaire tycoon Javier Petronides was scared of confessing his feelings for his wife. He was startled out of his thoughts when he heard voices in the house.

"Nicolo,you need to wear your uniform and go to school." Mel said in a stern voice. What was his problem today he just woke up and started pouting that he did not want to go to school.

"I don't want to go Momma."

"You will have to go Nicolo."

"What's going on?" A deep voice said behind them. Mel turned around to were Javier's voice had come from.

"Great you are still here. Could you please tell your son that he should go to school."

Nic went running to Javier and he scooped him up into his arms.

"I don't want to go to school today Papa." Nic said in his baby voice.

"Cant u let him be just for today. We can go to the park together as a family."

"Javier!"

"Yeeey the park." Nic's happy shout filled the whole house.

She was ready to pull her hair out. And it wasn't even noon yet. She should have known that he would agree with his son. Men!.

"Baby,first tell me why you don't want to go to school?" She asked

"Because a girl at school said she liked the color of my eyes." Nic said in a sad voice.

Mel made eye contact with Javier and saw that he was also trying not laugh. She eventually lost the fight. And started laughing so bad that there were tears in her eyes. She was not even mad anymore. Her baby was just too adorable.

"Okay baby,you wont go today." She said between her giggles. She also noticed that Javier was looking at her with an odd look on his face.

They ended up going to the park and the zoo. She had to admit,she had enjoyed time with the men she loved. She just wished Javier would say he loved her. Sometimes she could almost swear that he does love her. He would make love to her with so much passion that she will be left breathless. Maybe he needed more time. So she will be patient with him. It was after two in the afternoon when Javier had said there was an emergency in the office. So he had left. Now they were back home,Nic was taking his afternoon nap and she decided to have some ice cream but on her way to the kitchen,she started feeling dizzy,black dots were in her vision and the world started turning black. That's the last thing she saw before she fell down on the floor and fainted.

Javier had received Marco's call saying that he had the information he requested earlier. So he had came to the office immediately. Marco poured a small basket full of letters on his desk.

"Sir,these are the letters that your wife sent to you."

"Who had intercepted them?"

"Paola,sir."

"What?" He said in an angry voice.

"We discovered that the day your wife left,Paola went to the house to drop some documents and she decided to go on a tour in the house. She eventually got to your bedroom and saw the letter on the bed. Ofcourse she opened it and after reading it,she decided to take it with her because she didn't want you to go after your wife and much less know that she was pregnant and sick. She also intercepted the letters your wife sent through out the years. It was easy for her because every mail and calls you receive goes through her first. She made the mistake of keeping the letters and we found them.What would you like us to do with her Sir?"

After Marco's explanation.Javier was livid with anger. Paola had betrayed him. He knew she had a crush on him but he didn't know that it was that horrible. He should have known when she had thrown herself onto him that day. She probably had seen that it was Mel on the door too. How foolish could he be?

"Marco,escort Paola out of the office immediately,she is fired and she is not allowed anywhere near the building,my home,my wife and my son." He said with all the anger he was feeling.

"Yes Sir,right away." Marco said and instantly left to go carry out the task.

Javier was preparing to go home. He wanted to see his wife and tell her how much he loved her. No more waiting,they had wasted enough time. Just then Marco barged back into his office.

"Sir."

"What is it Marco?"

"Its your wife,she has been taken to the hospital."

Javier was pretty sure his heart stopped for a few seconds there. His wife,in the hospital. What had happened? Was she in pain? He should have never left her. All these thoughts went through him in an instant.

"Get the car ready." He said standing up heading for the door.

"Its already waiting for you."

Javier reached the parking lot and told his driver to get him to the hospital immediately.
