Sun and Moon

“Zhian, wake up,” I heard the voice of my lady, “Hmm?” I want to sleep, especially you are with me, my lady. “It's already 3 in the afternoon, I want to go to the coffee shop, please?” I opened my eyes. “Amethyst, what do you want to write?” I asked while I'm smiling at her. “It's up to you, you're my writer,” she said while smiling. I miss that kind of smile. “Let's go, I'm hungry.” I fix myself and decided to stand up. If I'm just dreaming, please I don't want to wake up. “I'm tired, our professor made fun of us, he said, if I don't want to obey his commands, he will mock you.” She giggles. I think, she knew that I will do everything just to make her happy, and safe. I don't think if that kind of attitude of him was showing a professional, and respectful professor. But, In my opinion, it's not. “Or he will give you low grades, I don't want it to happen so, I did his commands,” I added. To be honest, I don't know the reason why I'm doing this for Amethyst. I can live my life, and not meddle in some business. Likewise, I don't care, if someone's grades are low, or high, but the thing is— I have cared for Amethyst. She's the exemption. It's her decision if she wants a low or high grade. I pat my cheeks, and I began to walk. The realization hits me, she's gone, so why does my Professor said that kind of deal? I mean, incentives. I changed the topic. “Do you know Sammy?” I questioned. She looked at me. “Yes, why?” Her eyes were squinting, and she's scratching her nape. “I met her last week, she's nice,” I said. She looked away, “I'm glad that you've met each other,” she said with a genuine smile. “Yeah, she's my cousin.” Her eyes widen, “Really? She's my best friend!” Her expression became brightened. I don't know why, but my head is aching a bit. After thirty minutes, we arrived at her favorite coffee shop. Her orders were cherry glaze donuts with mini chocolate chips and a cup of chocolate drink. While my orders were maple glazed donuts with cinnamon sugar and a cup of hot coffee. “I've discovered something about your family,” I gasped while sipping in the cup. “Uhm, I told you to stop it,” she said, and she bites the donut. “I won't.” The silence has prevailed inside the coffee shop. “By the way, I learned a lot from your past, and I already knew who was your legitimate mother,” I added. “Historia Carolina, you two were supposed to live at your old villa, but unfortunately something wrong happened, I wonder if what kind of incidents that you've experienced at that kind of place.” Her expression becomes cold, and blank. It seems like she's not in a good mood. Or maybe, she doesn't want to talk about it. However, I need her to allege something. In that case, I'm able to clarify, and make things back into normal situations, “You don't know his capabilities to do something terrible,” she whispered. “Amethyst? Are you saying something? I didn't understand.” I looked at her with a bewildered look on my face, “Nothing, I just remembered something.” She's still looking at her food, and her grip is tight. What's wrong with her? I think this topic is making her feel uncomfortable. I should stop talking about this. “Where is your father? I didn't see him at your current house, does he have this busy life?” She nodded. “Can I know his kind of work?” I asked. I'm writing all the important things. “No, you should stop.” I saw the tears on her face. She immediately wipes it off from her face. “How many times do I have to tell you that you should stop, and stop bothering my family!” From my perspective, she's annoyed, and she's starting to raise her voice at me. She never did that, especially when we were together. My lips pressed into a thin line. “Look at that guy, he's talking, but he doesn't have a companion.” My realization hit me, but this time, it's hurting me. I'm the only one here at the table and speaking to myself. They might think that I'm crazy because they didn't see Amethyst. It's hard to avoid it, especially when it comes to Amethyst. I scanned the whole coffee shop, and I saw different faces. Some of them had an ice pick to their eyes, or a knife in their chests, and even in their head. The other faces were ripped off, and you can't even recognize their identity. I think some of its causes were accidents. It seems like they were hit by the car, and they didn't survive. I shrugged my head, my body is trembling, I witnessed their cause of death. It's not good. “I wonder if he is insane, or he was just fooling around.” Without paying attention, I've heard their gossips even though I want to ignore them. I looked at the donuts. Her bites are just my hallucinations. All of this was just my hallucinations. Maybe I will give it to the people who need to eat, but they can't afford to buy food. I stood up like I never heard their gossips. I don't like to waste my time on their nonsense conclusions, and impressions. Get a life! I shouted in my mind. Just like what I thought, there are young children nearby the narrowed street. They smiled at me after I gave the donuts, “Thank you!” They shouted in unison. My heart jumped. It feels good to think that you can still help others even though through simple things. “It feels like in a cloud nine, right?” Amethyst suddenly appeared beside me. “Yeah, after those annoying events inside the coffee shop, these children can make my heart skip a beat,” I explained. “So, what's the next thing you want to do right now? It's already 5 in the afternoon,” she spoke. “Nothing, I just want to enjoy the times that I'm with you.” We sat at the vacant bench, the view is magnificent and magical. “I'm just like the sun, I need to disappear when the darkness will come.” “While I'm disappearing from your sight, you can't forget my existence, and you'll wait for my comeback when the darkness will fade,” her voice became husky. “I'm the sun, and you are my moon, we are not made for always together with each other, but when we collide, the people will amuse at our magical moments.” Just like what she said. The sun went down, and the darkness conquered the sky.
