CHAPTER 19
Martin got up from his desk in the Cottage and glanced at Viv’s picture. He realized his whole life changed after that day. He had moved on with his work at the Institute and was happy when Vivian accepted his invitation for a long overdue night-on-the-town. He stared down at the notebook on his desk almost as if after all these years it could reveal what happened to his friend. He remembered how, in the St. George Hotel in Geneva, he and Remy each had taken the notebooks; each containing only half of the formula. Over the years, he guarded that notebook. When he worked at the Institute he kept it in his desk. He felt the secure facility was the best place to hide a notebook that only had one half of a formula.
Martin just continued that practice here in the Cottage.
