CHAPTER 12
When they got to school, Brad parked next to Evie’s car. He stopped his sister before she got out and again offered to see what was wrong with her car. She thanked him but declined his help, realizing he really was late for class. She got out and watched as he engaged full propulsion and took off toward the other side of the campus.
Evie commanded voice control and her car door opened. She crossed her fingers when she initiated the engine start sequence. Now that the rain had stopped, she hoped the car would start but after three tries, she realized that wasn’t going to happen. Frustrated, Evie pressed the call key for ATSS, Automotive Technical Support Station.
