I am pretty sure I didn't agree in any kind of agreement with anyone. I am pretty sure I didn't hit my head somewhere, randomly, nor got drunk to blurted out something I knew I'll regret forever. Goddamn... How would I f ucking know?! What my parents wanted was absurd. They can't do this to me. They can't... I stared blankly at my face in the mirror straight to me. I put more power under my eyes when I realized there's not enough concealer to hide my freaking swollen eyes. I never thought I still have tears left to cry after the whole night of weeping my heart out. When I woke up, I cried again remembering what they told me last night. Even in the shower, and my eyes were now tired and puffy because of it. "Lili, we just wanted the best for you. Please, understand us," my mother tried to convince me. I shook my head, anger was visible in my eyes. "No, Mama! You're taking my freedom away!" I shouted frustratingly. "You can't do this to me. Papa..." I looked at my father, begging for him to stop my mum. "It's the best for you, Lili. Your name was all over the news and it's the only way to clear your name," he said calmly. Of course! He was the one who suggested that damn proposal! Why did I expect he would stop my mother from hurting me?! I can't believe them. They are my parents but they're selling me off! "Papa, I told you I didn't know! Why am I the one suffering for something I didn't do?!" "We're just protecting you, Lili! Your life has been turned upside down since you hang out with your so-called friends! You're not a kid anymore to not know what's right and wrong!" I bit my lower lip to stop my tears from falling. They looked so calm while my heart was in a rage because of their decision to meddle in my life. I thought they love me but why are they taking away my freedom? Is that how they showed me their love? They don't even believe me! I was not involved with the scandal last night. I happened to be there, too, where it took place. I was with my friends having really good fun when suddenly, the police got in between our parties. If only my parents didn't call the authorities, I would have spent my night behind the bars. However, I had nothing to do with the scandal! The media just assumed and quickly put my name in the headlines without hearing my side. It wasn't the first time and maybe, they got fed up seeing my face in the news, so they have decided to sell me off. When it was released, Papa immediately called me to see him. I knew it was about the scandal that happened in Batangas. It must be. In the middle of the night, I went to Manila to talk to him only to be surprised by this news. Now, I'm begging for my freedom. I can't accept it. I just can't... My name was just hauled down but I wasn't involved! I party, yes, a lot. But I won't take any illegal drugs! "Whether it's true or not, our decision is final for you. You can't wander around with your tainted name, Lili! It's a disgrace!" Papa screamed, his veins were popping out. "Mama, please... Don't do this to me!" She tried to reach for my hands. I stared at her, begging. What do I need to do to stop them from doing this absurd agreement? They didn't even consult me! They didn't even ask me if I'm okay with it! My parents waited for me to get inside the house and when I did, the news echoed, then I lost my cool. "Lili, you need to learn your lesson. I told you to stop seeing your friends! They did nothing but drag you into a mess and look where it led you! You almost got jailed because of them!" "I told you, I didn't know! If I'd known about it in the first place, then I would've stayed away from them!" I tried to make them believe me again, hoping they would stop. "Lilienne!" Papa's voice thundered. I closed my eyes and stopped shouting. Fear crept inside me when I sensed the anger in his voice. When I opened my kins, I welcomed his eyes filled with finality. My knees wobbled seeing my father's persistence. With my tingling lips, I begged again. "Please... I won't do it again, Papa. I will stay away from them just please, don't do this... Don't take away my freedom..." "We're not taking anything here, Lili! He will clean your name and that's when you're allowed to go outside!" "Mama..." I sobbed. "I don't even know him... I'm not marrying someone whom I don't even love! Please... Don't ruin my life..." They went silent. Papa was just there, shutting his eyes as if it's a pain to be in this argument. While my mother stared at me firmly, not backing out. They're into it. In order for my name to clear up, they came up with the idea of using someone else to do the job for me. "You're grounded, Lili. Try to escape and you will see," Papa said coldly. Thinking of my future, I cried the whole night. It was painful to think that my parents are willing to put me in a situation where I'd suffer to clean the mess I didn't invoke. I blamed the media for jumping to a conclusion that tore me. No one can stop my parents, even my brothers who love me so much, and I from ruining my life. They have already decided for me. I wanted to seek help but I can't. I have to admit that I grew up really spoiled. With all the troubles I committed, I just get away with it because I am Madrigal's daughter, an heiress, the firstborn, and the first granddaughter in our family. I always have it my way, very spoiled and very much pampered. But was it my fault? They raised me spoiled!
