Kim woke to sunshine streaming through her window, uncertain for a moment if yesterday had really happened. She took a while to sort through the memories. Taj’s story, the lookout at sunset, their bodies entwined in a declaration of love. A new world. Ben’s betrayal, the hostility in town, even the pain of Dusty’s death couldn’t touch her. The thought of Taj turned despair into a heavy dose of hope.
