The atmosphere in the room went down a few degrees in temperature as I saw my Grandfather's face harden. I raised and eyebrow, what was wrong with this witch?
"I never said, as I know the two of you don't see eye to eye." He said.
"She was the one who was supposed to protect the Kingdom when Laire was taken." The King said, his tone too calm for my liking. I rested a hand on his arm. He looked at me, calming when he saw it was me. He rested his hand on mine and patted in slightly.
"And she still blames herself," Hamish said. "If you wish for me to leave your Highness I will understand, but I can not leave my mate."
"Don't be ridiculous." The King said. "We may not see eye-to-eye, but I know the mate bond and I would never deny you that."
