Esme stirred awake really early the next day. So early that the sun hadn't even risen yet. Everything around her was in darkness and as she rolled over in the bed, she found Colton lying next to her. She smiled, widely, allowing all the love for him to envelop her. It was an amazing feeling and she wanted to hold on to what was good in her life for as long as she could. There was no guessing how long either her or Colton would be together for, or even live for, given the kind of job they do, and when all this was over, it didn't mean it was going to end.
