Replacement *Levi's backstory*

Two weeks later

Xander POV:

Alpha Craven had to return to Selenophile Pack he granted us 3 more weeks training in these facilities as they are better equipped. She was also taking the time to give Levi her training methods and notes this way he could continue the training when she left with me.

Why would she leave training up to Levi and not the Gama? I wonder if her Alpha and Gamma are aware this could be offensive to them. I quickly came to learn that when it comes to training she has final say in everything her Alpha Abaddon trust her entirely.

Today like every other morning I wake up and my mate is already out and about. I really should put a bell on her. I make my way downstairs and find her with Levi going over some forms. I let out a low growl due to my possessive nature and an unmated male near her. They both laugh at my reaction I apologized. I sit down to have some breakfast while they are discussing I managed to catch part of it apparently, we will have an evaluation today and another in 2 weeks before we leave.

Charlotte/Charley POV:

Alpha Abaddon called me over to discuss who I will leave in command. I had not though about the fact that he was Beta and that required me to leave my pack, my home. At least I won’t go alone Shun also found her mate in Selenophile Pack, she would go with me. Alpha Craven already informed Abaddon that he would set up some training grounds for me as I had a rare talent, and he would not allow it to go to waste.

Abaddon suggested I hand over the training to Gamma Daler. He is a great warrior, but I chose Levi , not only because he is an amazing warrior with a mind similar to my own, but he is also caring and calm. Levi lost everything before he joined our pack, he is of Alpha blood second born to a small pack called Deity pack.

I feel he would be the best choice, as my replacement. Abaddon never questions my methods or suggestions since they are always effective. After some discussions about the training regimen and the next 2 years training base plan completed, I headed to Levi to share the good news. He was hesitant at first but agreed. I know he is still haunted by his past and I hope this can help him move forward.

Levi POV:

Charley came over to ask me to be her replacement I immediately turned her down I could not be responsible for the safety of this pack I just couldn’t.

She told me that is the main reason she knows I will never let anyone down and I will do my best for this pack. Charley really is amazing; I have never seen someone so dedicated and brilliant in my life. I told her I would have an answer for her by the end of the day and left for a walk.

I don’t know how long I walked for, but I was lost in my thoughts. I remember when I joined the pack. Charley was only 12 years old at the time and the reason I joined the pack.

Flash back:

Levi found out his best friend Amanda , was his mate when he got back from warrior training. They were ecstatic, they fell in love and marked each other. Shortly after they had a daughter who they named Cristal , and his mate was 3 months pregnant with their second child.

His brother Drystan the current alpha of the pack was extremely angry he had not found his mate after 8 years of searching and slept around allot.

He got one of his one night stands pregnant and decided to take her as a chosen mate since he couldn’t find his fated mate. Chances to impregnate someone who is not your mate are extremely low. Must be fate he thought.

She was the daughter of an Alpha and he refused to let her have a bastard. During the Luna inauguration ceremony all packs were invited to meet the new Luna of Deity pack Eris .

During the ceremony Drystan found his fated mate, a warrior in a distant pack. Drystan was smitten by her they talked for hours and kissed until she found out he was the one to be mated to Eris.

With a broken heart she rejected him, he begged her to take it back and refused to accept the rejection.

Eris walked into the developing scene she started yelling at Drystan and his fated mate Belle , Eris leaned over a table and started crying Belle his fated mate approached her to calm her down telling her that nothing would happen and that she rejected him. Eris extended her claws and slit Belle’s throat.

Drystan, lost his mind he killed Eris and his unborn child. Eris father felt the pain of his connection with his daughter being lost. He was frantic and stumbled into the room. He was a ruthless older alpha with many allies. The visiting Alphas and warriors tried to take Drystan into custody, and he went on a rampage.

Eris father filled with grief after the loss of his only daughter declared war. Drystan’s pack uncertain of what was happening defended their Alpha. The pack was slaughtered, Levi grabbed his pregnant mate and child once he noticed what was happening and helped them escape.

He told them he would catch up to them and went back to help his brother and pack. On his way back he felt the pain of his bond breaking he ran as fast as his legs would carry to his mate.

He followed her scent his heart breaking once he caught the scent of blood mixed with it, another wave of pain his child’s connection was broken he couldn’t feel her anymore. There laid her lifeless body next to his mate. He was broken his everything taken from him only to lift his gaze and find his brother covered in their blood.

Drystan had killed his mate, unborn child, and daughter. His own brother, Levi was furious he charged at his brother punching him repeatedly asking why. Drystan just laughed Levi, twisted his head, and ripped it off.

Levi was shattered he fell to his knees his sobs rocking his body. He heard a faint heartbeat, he ran to his mate and child, he placed his head on his mate’s chest, hearing her fainting heartbeat there was nothing he could do he just apologized over and over, with her eyes closed she whispered to him asking him to be happy. The heartbeat stopped.

Time blurred together all he could do was wander and hope for his death. One day while hunting down filthy rogues who r***d a young she wolf, he came across a child who was picking some roots while humming a song.

The child looked up with a bright smile and asked him why he was so sad. He was quiet observing the child, the sweet little girl continued speaking said her name was Charley. He growled at her telling her to go home it was not safe out here. Charley grabbed his hand and asked him to come with her.

He got even angrier what is wrong with you I could kill you. No, she replied calmly you are good, you are just lost. You should really try to be happy you know said the child. Her words reminding him of the last moments with his mate. All that pain came back like an avalanche.

Suddenly the child’s smile faltered, and she told him to hide there was danger approaching. He couldn’t sense any rogues nearby; the child pulled him around a tree and handed him the roots she was picking.

She quickly crumbled hers in her hands and rubbed it on her neck and arms telling him to do the same. To say confused would be an understatement, the child pulled out a knife from her bag and climbed up the tree. She kept signaling him to follow but he did not listen.

Suddenly he sensed them there they were the 7 pieces of s**t who rapped the young she wolf and left her for dead. Levi was confused at how a child could sense them before he could. He hid and noticed he was undetected he took the opportunity to ambush one of the wolves breaking his neck. The other 6 turned with shocked expressions on their faces, how could they not of smelled him. Levi used that second of surprise and took down another by ripping his heart out.

All five started to attack at the same time Levi had not shifted since his mate was murdered and only fought in human form. His wolf had gone deep into his subconscious due to the pain.

Three of them shifted they were causing damage wherever they could, their moves erratic and hard to predict. He grabbed one by the neck and another bit down on his arm. He screamed in pain then there was silence.

The wolf on his arm dropped to the ground, he crushed the neck of the wolf he still held and turned to continue his attack. When he saw Charley covered in blood looking back at him. His heart raced he just met this child, but he did not want her to get hurt.

He looked around and noticed all the other wolves were dead. They all had a single precise wound, the wolf that was on his arm had a knife in his eye. His eyes opened wide in shock he asked her did you do this?

Charley frowned and apologized to him, she said I didn’t want you to get hurt. She started to cry worried that he would think she was a monster. He kneeled in front of her and thanked her, her smile beaming once more. She took him to the pack and after some questioning was accepted to join. She had saved him not just from rogues but from his own misery.

Flash back over

I made my way back to the pack and accepted Charley’s offer. Honestly, I was conflicted I love her like a daughter often times I like to think my daughter and her would have been friends. I informed her I would have preferred to go with her but I will honor her wishes.

Every morning we would meet at the c***k of dawn to go over everything she has set up for the pack once she leaves. I am so proud of the woman she has turned out to be, I know her parents would feel the same way.

Most mornings I am greeted by a growl from her mate, he understands nothing would ever happen and I would always see her as a daughter, but we are possessive creatures.
