The truth

Once I reached the grounds we were going over our next moves, when suddenly I receive a link of an intruder. I sprint over ready for the attack when I see Max.

Maxie I almost killed your ass, what are you doing here? With a death glare, you wont ever use my name will you? I came to join you if you will have me. I have been alone long enough, and I want to do something other than waste away. Even if I will never admit this again you did best me in a fight, I would like a rematch.

A few months later

The Rogue King is aware of a group working against him and is on the defensive. He refers to us as the usurpers . I like it, and thus our small pack has a name.

He has not been seen and his movements have become erratic. Levi was able to gather some very useful information in his last ambush. The incident that ended Xander’s life was not a random attack.

The mutt who escaped when Alpha Craven and Xander took down the rogue camp reported back to the king letting him know of the death of his younger brother. The king put out a hit with a high ransom for the one who brought his brothers killers head to him.

We were on our way to speak to Craven to see what he can remember of the incident. Levi and Maxie by my side as my Beta and Gamma. We sit in his office and go over the reports noticing too many discrepancies.

Craven stood grabbed some bourbon and served us a drink. He drank his in one quick gulp, what aren’t you telling us Craven.

As I am about to take a sip I notice the wolfsbane in my drink as do the others based on the look they just gave me.

In one swift motion Max grabbed Craven by the neck and smashed him onto the wall. His beta and warriors ran in which were no match for Levi.

What did you do you slimy piece of s**t?

Shun ran in, what are you doing Charlotte, this is treason. He tried to poison us with wolfsbane said Levi. Shuns eyes wide with realization.

What were you talking about right before that quickly tell me. I tell her of the reports, it all makes sense. You betrayed Xander didn’t you? The air is stuck in my lungs I stumble back, no, no, he trusted you, you were his best friend.

Max punched him in the face the lady asked you a question.

He began to speak and my world shattered.

When they caught me they did not know who I was and were looking for the man who killed the rogue mutt. I saw Xander running toward me and though he could stop them. You told them he didi it?!

I lost my mate because of your cowardice! I threw him out the 3-story window onto the front of the pack house. I lumped out the window after him. Go on call your pack.

He laughs have you lost your mind, you cant stand against my pack. As the warriors and pack members surronded us

Kill her he commands. I Charlotte Hagen , Alpha of the Usurpers challenge you for your pack and it’s lands.

The options available to you are to fight or forfeit your pack to me. The whispers could be heard all around they are rooting for their alpha, confused at the female challenger, not one believed he would betray them and leave.

I accept. Take your stance you can fight in both forms; this battle will be to the death. As soon as I said that his face paled.

Alessia growling in my head out for blood. What will you accomplish he says as he walks backwards. Silence in return, I stalk towards him he shifted into his wolf and let him take over. He lunged aiming for my neck. I grabbed his snout with all my might, you defend this coward who betrayed your beta?

His wolf whimpers but doesn’t ease up. I dislocated his bottom jaw and jumped away. I let Alessia out it was her mate too that they betrayed.

She charged at them and ripped a chunk of his leg out. They started to limp away Alessia mad at the spinelessness act ripped his front legs off and shifted back. His wolf shifted back to his human form unable to tolerate the pain I extended my claws and shoved my fist down his throat pulling out his tongue and breaking his windpipe.

I tossed it to the side with disgust and spoke to the pack explaining what he did to Xander. Shocked expressions and denial were all I was met with. Shun came over with a rag to clean my bloodied arm and I immediately renounce the claim on the pack and surrendered it to Shun and Marcus.

The pack seemed content with my final decision.
