Let the games begin!

An alarm goes off, I wake up again to an empty bed, how the hell does she do that. How can she sneak out without making a sound or alerting me, I really need to learn that. I get out of bed and find a note on the bed side table “Good Morning my love, I left early to review today’s plan.

I wanted to let you rest you will need it. I get out of bed with a chuckle, take a quick shower and make my way downstairs. I see my lovely mate sitting on the table with some food and a stack of papers. I go up to her and give her a kiss it was deeper than I intended. She tells me to eat up, I look at her the bed was cold and pout my lip.

She giggled and looked at me blinking her eyes quickly I’ll make it up to you and kissed my neck. I grabbed a quick breakfast and we headed to the training grounds. Alpha will not be coming today he had important matters to discuss with Alpha Abaddon.

At exactly 5am Charlotte calls for formation. She explains we will start with a warmup after that we will each train in the area she will specify. We would have a 20-minute sparring and commence the tactical training.

She started making teams while looking over her forms including her pack members as well. Like I mentioned we will have individual training based on the areas I feel you would benefit the most from based on your performance yesterday. There are 4 groups total. The areas may seem random but please trust my methods. You will see the results once you complete the task assigned.

The first group was sent over to target practice knives, axes, guns, bow and arrow and more. I want you to hit the bullseye with each of the weapons presented in front of you.

Second group was sent to an obstacle course, you must complete this course without falling or being knocked down, there is no time limit you must complete in human and wolf form.

Third group was assigned to climbs, there was a rock wall in a pool that had water running down it like a waterfall, a few trees and the inclined wall. You have to ring the bell of at the top of all 3 climbs to complete the task.

Fourth and final group catch it, they had to catch in their human form 3 different animals each and could it not be injured. I was assigned to group 4.

Even though there was no time limit she turned on the timer, I guess she wanted an alarm to signal the start. I went over to the forest to see what animals I could find. I saw her going over to the first station. It has been over 45 minutes I have caught 1 rabbit, and a fox I am missing one. I made a small cage to keep them in and my common sense did not kick in until it was too late the fox ate the rabbit… I had to catch another two and waste time making more baskets. I just need two more species; I need something small since the cages are not that big.

I climbed a tree to see if there were any bodies of water on the way up I found an owl and scooped it into a cage. I was making my way to the lake and saw a few ducks that can work. I got in the water and was slowly making my way to them I stretch my arm out to grab one without being spotted and see something coming towards me quickly and all the ducks flew away.

There was a snake soaring through the water, well this is an animal I grabbed the snake, put it in a bag I made with my shirt and tossed it in the last cage. I headed over to the training grounds and noticed quite a few members have completed their challenges my warriors look exhausted I wonder how difficult it was for them.

When the last member completes their challenge, the timer goes off. We head over to the sparing area she suggests sparing with one of your previous opponents, but you can choose anyone. All of my warriors picked the warrior who defeated them yesterday. I was surprised they went for the females first.

Everyone had their partners, there would be 5 - 3 minute rounds 1 minute break to switch your partner. I started with the big guy Levi. Charlotte hit the timer and walked around observing the fights. What is up with this man, I am a Beta and couldn’t take him down. I was able to prevent a few take downs but he clearly was a superior fighter. At every break I would look over at her and she had an amazing smile across her face. On the last round I chose to face my mate I was dying to touch her, even if I got my ass handed to me. I only touched her once and I’m sure she let me, all other contact was from her taking me down and I loved every second.

Charlotte grabbed the remote to choose the tactical part of training she hit a button and the Jaws theme song started playing.

Her pack erupted in cheers and she just laughed I’m confused and curious as to what category it is and what does it mean, why are her warriors so happy.

She points to small letters under the poster like a disclosure notice that said, “If a theme song is played, capture the flag we shall play.” She tells me she was young when she came up with the rules and it was her favorite game.

The teams were split, and luck have it I was in my mate’s team, finally! The goal is to capture the other team’s flag and take it to your home base, first team to completes this win. If an enemy is caught in your territory, they can be captured; they can also be rescued by their teammates.

She calls us over and to my surprise she did not provide any suggestions she asked us how we wanted to approach after taking in all our suggestions she indicated we have a plan.

We will place a member from each pack on every division to communicate with ease. Our border patrol will be tasked with notifying the guards by mind link, must stay hidden. The guards will notify the flag keepers, guards will engage in combat and capture invaders. The two flag keepers will notify 1 member each from the front lines if the flag has been captured and protect it. This is our defense strategy.

On to the attack plan. We will be stealthy and quick; we will go across in 3 directions.

Each informing the number of patrols in their area. The last group of the front lines will wait for the information, once confirmed which is the best possible route you will engage. Moving quickly, one will take the flag and the other will proceed to the prison to free our group.

The flag holder will assess the situation if they should proceed to home base or wait for backup after reaching a safe location. If back up is required, we will create a diversion for the holder to reach safety. If the holder goes back to our goal, we will follow.

She took every suggestion and came up with an amazing plan. The team assigned the roles I was flag holder, and she would lead the prison break, I guess they really want to win.

The announcement is made, and the game will begin. Immediately we take our places and set the plan in motion, we received check ins from the designated team members letting us know so far 8 members have been captured in our territory. We reach the forest and break our formation. We get the link West was the less guarded and they were taking them to the “prison” towards the north.

I headed West and Charlotte North. I had to fight a few of my pack members and 2 of her warrior’s goddess they put up a fight. I quickly grabbed the flag with them hot on my tail. I was able to get out of their line of sight and quickly linked asking for back up.

I can hear movement in every direction.

Shit, I don’t want to lose this for my team, I need to think quickly I took of my shirt and wrapped it around a rock and tossed it to the side as far as I could.

I remember my pack members mentioning an herb she showed them to hide their scent and started rubbing it all over my self. I climbed up the tree as far up as I could, I tied the flag to a branch and dropped down a bit more ready to defend.

My mate links me I am so happy we are marked and can link each other. I told her where I was and what I did. Her reply was a bit odd, she asked me to craft from leaves and small branches a small basket and hide the flag in it and wait for the signal.

Not even 5 minutes later I hear multiple howls and see wolves sprinting in all directions she tells me to shift and go. I take a closer look and notice all the wolves were carrying something in their snouts. I shifted and followed.

The opposing team is trying to guess who has the flag and are losing focus. We make it to our territory and our guards took down most of the intruders. We are near our flagpole and get a link from the flag keepers telling us our flag has been taken. We broke through the clearing and came face to face with the small female who had our flag, Shun. Her mate behind her ready to protect her, we make a run for our pole we hung the flag.

The game was over, my team is howling with excitement because we won.

She walks over and calls the teams over for assessment, apparently the game is not just to see who captures the flag first but to see who had the best score.

By adding up casualties, prisoners, warriors and so on. s**t, I didn’t even think that this could be used as training for an attack, she was right. The opposite team smirking thinking they had a chance. Once the assessment was complete the opposite team had 6 members standing 19 imprisoned and 5 “casualties”.

We had 29 members standing and 1 casualty. The opposite team started ranting (my pack) that it was impossible since they had captures some of us, she explained she freed them and took out the 5 guards.

She continued to explain she had nothing to do with the plan, it was all her teams idea saving the prisoners was Dexter’s idea.

She glanced at the time and asked if we would like to play again, she wanted to observe this time.

The teams were created I was with Shun and Levi this time and Marcus and Dexter were on the same team. Marcus was pouting at first, but his mate encouraged him to try and win. He smirked and they made a bet it was silly something about picking out the clothes for the next training session. We all already understood how we were being scored and tried to come up with a plan to win. It would be harder but since we mixed up the teams and knew each other’s old plans.

Our plan would be entirely different we chose to keep the entire team guarding our territory and flag. Only 2 people would infiltrate enemy territory the first causing a diversion long enough for the other to grab the flag and make a run for it. Since Levi and Shun were great at covering their scent they were chosen. Levi asked for items of our clothing to scatter around the enemy territory to trick them into thinking we all went over. The articles were scattered across the territory and Shun got into her position.
