Chapter SeventeenThe sun rose the next morning and lit up picturesque, snowy views, but inside the cottage no-one noticed. For the first time in many years, Isabelle slept peacefully. Kiera watched over her all night, memorising her features, noticing the similarities and differences to herself. She was surprised at just how alike they were—the same dark hair and eyes, even the shape of their small, rounded noses. After leaving Kitto, Jack had headed straight for the library and set to work on the books. It was almost midday when there was finally some movement in the house.
