Chapter NineKiera twiddled her fingers as she sat down on the settee next to Kitto, suddenly feeling awkward and nervous about the conversation ahead of her. She couldn’t imagine what Kitto could possibly have to say about a woman who died so long ago that Kiera had no memories of her. “What do you know about your mum?” Kitto asked. “Do you remember her?” She shook her head. “I was a baby when she died.
