Chapter ThirtyJack ducked back inside the car and handed Kiera a hot coffee. She removed the plastic lid and blew at the steaming liquid before sipping it tentatively. “Mmmmm,” Kiera sighed contentedly, “I needed that this morning.” “Okay, so we’re meeting Patrick there.” Jack found a place to wedge his coffee and started up the engine. “He’s organised the boat we need.” “Why don’t we pick him up on the way and all go together?” “It’s better to go separately in case we’re spotted.” Jack pulled away from the kerb and joined the morning traffic. “We don’t want his cover blown. We need him on the inside to help us keep one step ahead.” It was just as they left the urban commotion behind them and had reached a clear single carriageway that Jack spotted the police car in his rear-view mirr
