Chapter 25

"Oh yes, of course. I'm always ready as I told you before." I said to her and as I think of it, I'm actually getting scared of the thought. I developed this fear of dying and I still think that I'm not good enough. Impressing Scarlet is one thing but going in the real thing is still pretty scary considering what happened to me in the past quests I did. "You know what, I think I'll be accompanying you, that is, if it's alright to you. Besides, I could use a little adventure for myself. I seek for those everyday." Scarlet offered with a slight grin on her face. I mean, I would want that very much but I could embarrass myself in front of her, especially if I mess up during a fight or whatnot. "Well, I guess you could come but there are many potential dangers out there for you, mainly because of your status now as a fugitive." I warned her. "I know that, but I cannot hide forever. I like to make use of my time wisely. I cannot do something for the kingdom if I kept myself inside a dwelling hidden by everybody forever. Besides, I like to explore outside and learn ways I could use to redeem myself from everyone and I could do that in simple ways like accompanying you in your quests. By the time that I have learned enough and planned a wholesome plan, I could fight back what is rightfully ours." Scarlet explained. "Alright then, we'll go together. We just have to be extra careful and be on a look-out for those bandits again." I told her with genuine concern. "What did I miss?" Tucky uttered out of nowhere. He just came from outside doing some thing. "We're going on a quest together." I said to him with a smile. "What? How come you get to have quests together and he hasn't even been here for a week? How come I never go with you, princess?" he said sullenly. "You know very well that it's a very dangerous place out there for you, Tucky. People have always looked down on you. I just don't want you to get hurt." Scarlet sadly mentioned to him. "You know me, as well, princess. You know that I'm not the type who gets easily kicked down by others. I can fight, you know that!" "I completely know that, Tucky. It's better to be safe than sorry. It's just that I cannot bear to lose someone important in my life again. I don't want to risk it. I just want to protect you. Besides, you're having fun with your friends out in the village and that makes me happy for you." "I can see Scarlet's point here, Tucky. She just wants what best for you." I added. "I just constantly feel like I should be doing more, I should be helping you more, Princess. You've always been there for me all throughout and I think I'm not fulfilling my promise of fighting with you all the way, you know, the promise that Tait and Titia and I made the first time you got here. Now, I want to fulfill that promise for them as well because we, three cares for you massively." Tucky opened up truthfully. I can see the sadness in his eyes. "You've done more than enough, Tucky. Just choosing to be here with me everyday, you've already been fulfilling your promise to me and so much more. When I don't tag you along with me when I go face the endangered world outside, that doesn't mean that I think that you won't be any help and that you're useless. The truth is, I do that because you are someone who's so precious and kind that the world still needs and I want to protect that. The world needs more beings like you and I can't forgive myself if I put you in danger. You sticking by my side through thick and thin have helped me more than you know." Scarlet hearteningly stated. Her heart is so pure that I want to protect it even more. I saw a tear fell down right from Tucky's eyes. He's obviously moved by what Scarlet said and that's when I know for sure how genuine his heart is. He clearly has pure intentions of helping Scarlet. I wonder how their relationship got so deep like this. "Alright princess, you didn't have to make me cry like this. Thank you, for being my family and my home now, princess. Just be careful out there." Tucky said, hiding his tears from me. "You've got to protect her at all costs, Finley, or you're dead meat to me." He threatened adorably. "Of course, Tucky. I'll protect her with all my life." I said, subtly glancing at her while she wasn't looking at me. Then I smiled as soon as she turned her face towards me. "I feel like a father sending out my daughter on a date." Tucky said beaming while wiping what seem to be happy tears falling on his face. "Tucky!" Scarlet protested, her face blushing an intense red. I, on the other hand can't stop smiling widely. "Run along now, before it gets dark." Tucky said to us. "We're going tomorrow morning, Tucky." We clarified to him. "Oh of course, I'm sorry I got caught in the moment for a while. You two rest and I'll cook us dinner." ********************************* "You two should be very careful out there. Also, if you could buy some fish later, that'd be great, we ran out yesterday, hihi thank you!" Tucky said as we head out the door of the dwelling. "Sure Tucky, we'll buy flour and eggs for your baking, too. You should be careful here, as well. Call up your mates, so you'd have company." Scarlet replied to him. After saying goodbye, we started to hike our way towards Draco. Just as Scarlet did before, we just walked on foot. We brought essential things we'll need in case danger hits us somewhere. I got my sword that I have gotten good in handling and Scarlet has her magic tome and a small knife with her.
