Chapter 69

“OH NO! PRINCESS, FINLEY! THERE’S AN EMERGENCY!” Tucky burst out from inside, panicking. ‘If this isn’t an emergency, then I will totally kill Tucky!’ I said in my head as the precious, intimate moment got interrupted. Scarlet and I were caught off guard. “What is it, Tucky??” Scarlet asked. “You’ve got to come inside and see it for yourself! Hurry up!” Tucky replied to her as he pulls us both inside. He showed us the eyeball we are using to watch for the Simmons. They were being raided again! But this time, not only the dark mages but also the Creagan soldiers! They found them! We all started to panic and worry. Scarlet and I wore protective gears and started heading towards Draco. “Is it really happening?? Did Kasstin really sold us out?” Scarlet asked with too much devastation. “I don’t know, Scar. I, myself cannot believe it still.” I replied to her as we rode on horses, trying to ride as quickly as the horses can. Behind us, another horse came darting its way past our horses. Amos rode on it. “Amos! Where have you been?!” I yelled at him. He was with us in the dwelling but it felt like he wasn’t there at all. Or maybe I was just too worried about Scarlet so it is I who didn’t notice him at all. “I was resting in the couch!” he yelled back and started to quickly go ahead of us. “That is one fast horse!” I remarked. Scarlet tried to hurry as well and I am left behind them. Well, I haven’t tried to ride a horse ever even in Canada so I am pretty much surprised that I haven’t even fallen off this horse. Maybe, as Finley in this time, I am actually a cool horseback rider! I tried to whip the horse in an attempt to make it run faster and it worked. This is cool. I am riding a horse like some professional prince! We finally arrived in Draco and quickly went straight to the house of the Simmons. Scarlet saw Raha and called her for back-up. Raha immediately run to the house. She was also worried and I think, she was scared. When we arrived, we knocked down the door that is locked and there we saw, a bunch of Creagan soldiers, and the same set of dark mages inside. They are holding the Simmons captive. Everyone of them were tied up, even Dudley. They were being threatened. Oh, the poor Simmons. Even these children and their grandmother has nothing to do with all this and yet they are being harassed. These evil people really has no regard for life, do they? As soon as we enter, the fight begins. I have a sword as a weapon and I started to slice these soldiers up. I can say that this Demetrius guy has trained these soldiers well for a fight. Raha is also fighting the soldiers, Scarlet is using her magic to fight off the mages and Amos, with his assassin skills, are fighting both enemies. I can hear the children crying, as well as Lynnet. Dudley is trying his best to get out of the rope tightly tied on him. “Give us the book, you idiots! One of the mages yelled out near Dudley’s face. “I will never give it to you, ever!” Dudley responded with frustration. “Hey big lad, get away from him!” Scarlet warned the mage and began fighting him with her magic. There was a ray of white, bright light coming out of Scarlet’s hands and the mage conjured a dark light to fight it off. The other dark mage was trying to look for the book. Raha, Amos and I were busy fighting the soldiers, as we didn’t realize that they were far more numbered than we thought. It’s like they really knew that we were coming to rescue the Simmons. I cannot believe that I ever trusted Kasstin and even made Scarlet trust her. People in this kingdom are really good deceivers. This ambush really add up to what happened with Kasstin yesterday. I cannot believe that she sold us out for good. Dudley finally got out of the rope and helped fight the mages. As the soldiers were knocked down, new ones keep on coming in. This is pretty much like the video games I play where it feels like there are endless number of enemies before getting to the master of the fight. I saw Scarlet on the corner of my eye and when I turned to look at her, she was getting weaker. The dark power of the mage was defeating her light and when she was about to fall, I immediately rushed towards her and catch her in my arms. She was getting dizzy. The dark mage then proceeded to where Dudley is. “If you won’t give it to us, then I might just have to use this new magic I’ve been practicing. If you’re so willing to risk the safety of your family over a dumb book, then I might just have to make you give it to me.” The mage uttered cunningly. I was so worried about Scarlet that I am trying my best to aid her at the moment. “Amos, Raha stop him!” I yelled at Amos as the mage started to chant something. Amos and Raha aimed their weapons at the mage but the soldiers flocked over at them before they could even do it. Dark light covered the whole house after the chant was shouted and when it was gone, everyone seem to have gotten quiet and Dudley was bowing his head, as if half unconscious. After few minutes, Dudley raised his head and there he stood, his eyes has turned red and he acts like a lifeless zombie. He then started walking and stood over the spot he pointed to us before where the book was. He started to cast the spell. “Dudley! stop!! Amos! Do something!” I yelled out but Amos seem lifeless as well. I tried to lay Scarlet gently on the floor and run towards Dudley to try and stop him. “Dudley, what are you doing?? Stop!” I tried desperately to stop him. But it feels like he is under a hypnosis spell and as someone who doesn’t do magic, am clueless on how I am going to stop this.
