Soldiers started to stand back up again and they were fiercer than before. They held me tightly and tied my hands. They also covered my mouth. Raha, Amos and Scarlet were also captured. It is as if we are rendered weak by whatever spell was casted on the whole house awhile back. My heart breaks and screams with rage as I witness Dudley, revealing and giving them the forbidden book that could put an end to this world. After the book was revealed, one of the mages quickly gets it and hides it somewhere in his pouch. Dudley then fainted afterwards. They still captured him and they all dragged us to a couch heading towards the Avery castle.
Lynnet, the kids and her mother was left in their house, still tied to the wooden posts, traumatized and scared of what has just occurred.
Is this it? Is this how it’s all going to end?
No! This isn’t the time to lose hope and give up! I need to protect Scarlet and help the kingdom! This isn’t the end! This is just the beginning.
Right now, I cannot do anything yet. I can feel my body getting weaker and weaker by the minute. And as I look at the others, I think that they can also feel what I am feeling. I want to get closer to Scarlet and tried to aid her but my body won’t let me. She and Dudley were both unconscious and the rest of us cannot even carry the weights of our bodies. And moments later, my sight begins to blur until it slowly fades and all I see is the dark.
FINLEY’S POV
My eyes begins to open slowly and I am confused at first as to why it is still dark.
As my mind and body begins to finally wake up, I was devastated to what I saw. We were trapped and helpless inside a dark, dirty and small dungeon. The first thing I remember is Scarlet and so I looked for her inside. I couldn’t go anywhere because I was chained up to the wall. Then, I saw Raha beside me, and next to her was Scarlet. I panicked and desperately tried to reach her even if the chains terribly hurts me. Raha was awake and she told me to stop.
“Please don’t bother. Do you think hurting yourself would mend the situation? Do you think you’re strong enough to break free from that chain? Just stop please. We have to accept that we can’t do anything anymore. This is why I didn’t want to engage myself in this. I told her that I didn’t want to. But, the Simmons are the only family I have left. I cannot let them get hurt just like that. But now, even I cannot protect them after all.” Raha said in a cold tone.
“We shouldn’t give up yet, Raha. There are a lot who still needs our help and protection. I know that we can still get out of this, trust me.” I told her.
“I stopped trusting anyone long ago, so telling me to trust you is just worthless. I’m sorry.”
“I am not commanding you to trust me. I just want to let you know that the Simmons still needs you. Don’t give up yet for them.” I replied to her. She then fell quiet.
I then began to wonder why there is only the three of us. Where is Amos and Dudley?
Scarlet began to show signs of movement.
“Raha, can you please take a look at her? I couldn’t see her much even if I try. I just want to know if she’s alright.”
Raha then tried to turn her head towards Scarlet.
“I think she’s waking up. She’s waking up!” Raha informed.
“Scarlet! Are you alright?!” I tried to holler.
“Give her time. But she is waking up.” Raha said.
“Finley?” a fainted voice called me.
“Scarlet? Was that you? Is that you speaking?” I asked eagerly.
“Yes, it is me. Where are you?” she asked. She sounds like she is still weak.
“I’m right here beside Raha. How are you feeling?” I asked.
“I…I don’t know exactly. There’s many things going on inside my head now that I am awake. But I also still feel weak.” she replied. “Are you both alright?” she added.
“Yes, we are fine. Don’t worry about us. Are you hurt? ” I asked her.
“I guess, I’m fine, I know that there are a lot of pain we are also feeling right but we shouldn’t give up still. I know that I was on the verge of giving up awhile back but I realize that many people still needs us. The Simmons still needs us. So, whatever hurt I am feeling physically, mentally or emotionally, I am ready to endure or this kingdom. And thank you for being one with me.” she said. “Raha, I know that you were avoiding this type of situation but thank you for fighting with us. I know that the Simmons meant so much for you. I will try and get us out of here. I’ll practice my magic even more.” she added.
“But Scarlet, you got weak because of your power. Please give it a rest for now. You need to gather all the strength that you’ll be needing.” I told her.
“I know, Finley. I will. I just really wanted to keep the faith right now.” she said.
“Thank you, Scarlet for doing all of this. I will always have faith in you.” I said.
We were interrupted when a guard banged the cellar so loud then laughed maniacally.
“You pigs should learn to keep quiet while you’re there or you’ll all be dead meat soon.” he warned.
“You don’t have to be evil because he is you’re master. You still have a choice to do what is good.” Scarlet subtly uttered.
“Shut up, you murderer!” he yelled out to Scarlet. “If anyone’s evil here, it is you!” he added. He then dropped our foods on the dirty floor, he did on purpose so we cannot even eat it anymore.
“They are being brainwashed deeply here, it’s disgusting.” Raha uttered.
