“Calm down, man! I am the one that just saved your life awhile back!”

“Oh, I am really sorry, man! It was a reflex!”

“So, why are you even here all alone? Where are your mates, lad?” he asked.

“The thing is I am so glad you found me because I am actually looking for you. We have something to propose to you.”

“Me?? What is it, then?”

“First of all, I really am sorry for that bruise I gave you and thank you for saving us back there, we deeply appreciate it.” I told him genuinely.

“It’s fine, don’t worry about it. And this bruise? This is nothing.”

“Alright then, so here’s the deal. Our party mutually decided to ask you if you would like to join our party. You seem like a good man and a very skilled assassin. We will need someone like you in our small force.” I directly asked him.

“Hmmm… what exactly is your party’s mission, if I may ask?”

“I think you already have an idea about the recent happenings in the kingdom, especially regarding Aeredale. Our goal is to put a stop to whatever evil force is behind all of this, you know, to save the kingdom and bring justice to the fallen people. We figured that because you saved us, maybe you have the same mission.”

“You know, I’m a ‘go with the flow’ type of person. I am not that hard to convince so…” he comfortably said.

“You’ll do it?” I said while grinning.

“Yes, why not. You, people seem nice and genuine. And if you may have recalled, I already told your small group my intentions to this village. Maybe, it will be fun to do this with company, you know, rather than just me. Well, I am already strong enough you know to be able to protect the people, maybe even stronger than your small group combined, but yeah, I’d like me some company.”

“Wow, I envy how confident you are, man. And your skills are aligned to your confidence so I have no objections there. But, alright, this was easy. Shall we go see the rest of the gang?” I asked him.

“Sure, sure, uhm…”

“Finley, by the way. The name’s Finley.”

“So, are we going back to where you were awhile ago?” he asked.

“Oh no, we’d agreed that I’ll go back straight to Tynewt and I am pretty sure they are on their way back as well. We are temporarily staying at this little store of this demi human whom I consider my master and a dear friend.”

As we walked, we talked to each other and we seem to get along just fine.

After a while, we finally arrived in front of the store. I actually enjoyed talking to this man that the walk felt like it was just a walk in the park despite the dark atmosphere. Upon entering the store, the group was delighted when they saw Amos. Then, there’s Scarlet approaching me, asking if I was alright. My heart was flattered upon her genuine concern. Then, she blushed when everyone was looking at her sudden and quick gesture towards me. She then took few steps backward. She’s so cute that I just want to hug her.

Varan then started to speak to Amos, “So, have you come to agree on our proposal to you?” he calmly asked.

“As a matter of fact, I have, sire.” he calmly replied to him. “As I have mentioned awhile back, my name is Amos Rolfe and my mission in Aeredale is to protect them. If I am doing this, might as well widen my circle so we can be bigger than them. Now, upon joining this party, I will share the same mission as you and from now on, will protect, not only the elves in Aeredale but including the whole of this kingdom.” he continued.

“Then, it’s settled. We are looking forward to having you in the party. We, three are the sole members and Varan here is an ally.” Scarlet formally announced.

“Can you reveal your face to us now?” Kasstin asked. He started removing his mask which was covering his entire head except the eyes. Everyone was entranced, even I admittingly was stupefied with his looks. How can the universe be so unfair?? He looks so flawless from head to toe! And don’t forget how good he is to fight. Man’s got everything! I glanced over at Scarlet to see her reaction and she clearly is mesmerized at him. Oh no! This man right here is going to get the spotlight and I have to crawl my way back to Scarlet’s attention. I haven’t even effectively impressed her yet. I think, I keep messing that part up. And if you think about it, Scarlet is way out of my league, Amos here is way higher than me up on the scale.

“You, my lad, I’m sure, is quite a lady’s man, aren’t you?” Varan said to him. And I just subtly rolled my eyes.

“It’s up to the ladies to decide.” he charismatically replied and winked at the girls. I saw Kasstin cringed and Scarlet, on the other hand, blushed and I think is trying to hide her admiration to this man. I’ve been trying to charm her for so long and this man who just came in, did it in mere seconds. How can I possibly compete with that now? I know that many people has said that they found me good-looking, but I don’t know if I actually believe it. And maybe if I am indeed fit for the standard of men’s looks, I still have no charm and I am just awkward and a hopeless romantic.

After settling down, we tried to get to know Amos more and he really seem like a nice guy, I just hope his charisma would tone down even just a little bit. It’s killing me especially because he is sitting right next to me. I feel so small and inferior next to him.
