“It’s alright, Finley. Keep holding on for your safety. I was just staggered as well during the takeoff.” She told me in an upfront manner. I then slowly took hold of her again and I can’t help but smile. I know she won’t see my face anyways so might as well smile it off.
“Does Zyphon have the power of invisibility?” Scarlet asked Kasstin.
“Yes, yes he does. I showed you earlier in fact he is invisible right now.”
“We can totally see him, Kasstin.” I uttered.
“I know that, silly. You can definitely see him but the people from below won’t.”
“Woah, that is impressive!” I said.
“It is wondrous, very enchanting indeed.” Scarlet added.
As I turn my head on the path, I was mesmerized with how magical the sky looked up close. The sun is already peeking so the skies’ colors are awestricken with its wonder. It feels like we’re in a whole new dimension as I just look straight up ahead. It feels like I’m one with the painter’s brush artfully stroking towards the canvas which was the sky while my arms are wrapped gently around a special girl that is explicably wonderful in all aspects. All this paired with her sweet fragrance is just heavenly. I wish I wouldn’t have to wake up from this wonderful dream if ever that this entire thing is still a dream.
**after a few hours**
“Alright, I hope you two are still breathing back there. We’ll land in about two minutes, so hold tighter because Zyphon here still needs to work on his landing when he’s carrying more than one person on his back. He thinks Finley needs to shed some pounds. ” Kasstin warned and teased me at the same time. Kasstin has endlessly teased me ever since I met her. Isn’t that just great…
I noticed that Scarlet seem a little quieter than usual after yesterday. I wonder what she actually felt yesterday. Is there a chance that she actually got jealous of me and Kasstin??
Well no, that couldn’t be it; I don’t think she even likes me that way.
Anyways, I pointed at the store of Varan and we landed smoothly despite what Kasstin said. I got down first so that I could assist Scarlet but she refused my hand. Well, I couldn’t say that didn’t hurt.
The sun has just risen so there’s no one around the village yet. Kasstin looked for an area where she could leave Zyphon safely. When she found a spot and Zyphon settled down in it, Zyphon worked with his invisibility magic so no one would start a commotion once they see him. I peeked at the window of Varan’s store if ever he was already awake. He is quite an early bird as most people in this world are.
Sure enough, I saw him sitting in his stool, polishing some kind of sword. I softly knock on the window to draw his attention towards me. I waved at him when he glanced back at me. I saw him subtly smile when he stood up and walk towards the entrance door.
The three of us stood in front to meet him.
“Finley! You’ve returned alive! And you even bought some ladies with you, huh? I never thought you’d be a ladies’ man.” Varan greeted.
“Oh they are friends of mine and I have a lot to tell you. And maybe we could go to any place serving your favorite food? It’s my treat, as promised.” I greeted him back.
“Of course, we’ll do! You know I’ve been worrying about you lately. I thought that there’s possibility that you’re a dead meat already. I’m glad you thought of returning here.” Varan replied to me.
“I’ve thought of that actually but a lot has happened so I couldn’t return straightaway. Why don’t we talk over at mealtime? I’ll tell you everything.”
“Let’s just buy the food and eat inside my store. So, we’ll have some privacy. I have got something important to tell you, as well.” Varan replied.
Scarlet and Kasstin were left inside Varan’s store while Varan and I went ahead and buy some of his favorite food in the village. On our way there, we catch up with each other about the things we can tell to each other around the public. Although, there were like five people around since it is very early in the morning.
When we got back to his store, we prepared all the scrumptious food on the dining table at the back of his store. Then, we started with our meal.
“Wow, this really does tastes great, Varan. I think this is one of the best foods I’ve tried here in Tynewt.” I said to him truthfully.
“Thank you for accommodating us here, sire.” Scarlet uttered to Varan then Kasstin followed.
“Don’t mention it. It’s been a while since I had some people come over here in my place so I’m glad Finley brought his friends here.”
“So, are you ready to hear everything?” I asked Varan.
“Of course, I was ready the moment you got here. So, if you please.” He replied. I stood up and pulled him on one side of the room before I got to storytelling. I explained that I was pretending as a prince on a quest to find his passion and I ask him to just go along with it.
“Now, why would you even do that?” he asked me.
“I’m trying to impress the girl with the white hair pulled up in a bun. So, please, just give me this one. It’s just a white lie, it won’t hurt anyone.”
“That’s what you think, but if that goes on for long, karma might get right back at you.” he warned.
“It won’t, well, I won’t let it.”
“Alright, alright, if you really want to impress this girl so badly then I will go along with it. Just be careful with that lie; it’s still a lie.” Varan continued then we returned to the table.
