My heart burst out with anger at his declaration. I don’t know what to do! The kingdom is on the line and worst, our lives are in so much danger now. I couldn’t contain myself that I just want to cry and disappear. Why did I let myself in this situation?? Why did I trust that arse too much?? I couldn’t help but blame myself while looking at my mother who is obviously in so much distress and she is also starting to panic as well.

“Mother, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry I got you into this. I didn’t know that they were like this and I trusted them too much. I am terribly sorry, mother.” I said to my mother and tears just started to come out.

“Clock is ticking you scumbags! Give us your answer now if you don’t want a piece of us.” Demetrius uttered and he is now a completely different person from the prince that I know. He’s finally took off his invisible mask and revealed his true self.

“I am keeping my word! I won’t marry someone like you, and most definitely not into a family like this! If you think that you’ll get whoever you want in this way then you’re wrong! Y’all are just proving yourselves as pathetic and miserable flops of your kingdom!” I lashed out at them.

“And you are not allowed to touch my kingdom and most definitely our lives! I will protect us from all of your plans and we shall conquer your evilness!” I said as I quickly usher my mother out of the hideous castle. King Darius started to nod at the castle guards as if telling them something and they all went after us until they finally caught us. They placed us in the castle’s dungeon and I can’t help but break down. I honestly couldn’t think of anything to do with all of this. It caught me off guard and my mother is here with me, helpless and vulnerable. Yesterday, she was just so excited because father will be arriving soon from his long expedition in Codor kingdom. She missed him terribly and now we don’t even know if we’ll be able to get out of this dungeon. I hope father will find us soon but I have to think of a way to get us out of here. It will be very tough since their dungeon is made of stones and breaking free is quite impossible.

Meanwhile….

“How dare she reject me like that, father! She’s so annoying. If it weren’t for the kingdom of Avery, I wouldn’t be able to stand her for that long. But I do hope that the Avery will still be ours, father?” Prince Demetrius said to his father.

“Oh don’t you worry, son. You’ll get the Avery alright and I will make sure of it. And we’ll find you another wife in the next kingdom. We’ll just have to take care of this mother-daughter first. You know, it was a piece of cake, letting them under the rug. They’re the pathetic ones, am I right, my little king?” king Daruis said to his only son.

“I couldn’t agree more, father. They are making fools out of themselves! They refused the grand offer of a lifetime. I honestly thought that Scarlet would go along with it. She obviously wanted me all those times and she’s just so shy to admit it. What a loser!” Demetrius remarked.

“We surely never experienced being rejected. This two is quite a treat, fighting back and all that making a scene. We have to secure our place on the throne now, my dear son. Think of something clever as you always do. Remember, we shouldn’t leave a bad first impression on the people of this kingdom. But make sure that they will despise those two scumbags underneath us. We’ll get rid of them after.” the king plotted the idea into Demetrius’ mind.

“I’ll tell you as soon as I formulated a plan, father.” he replied with reassuring smile towards his dearly, beloved father.

Demetrius then, sent some spies to learn about what’s going on in the kingdom and if there are things or information that they could use against Scarlet and her mother. The spies acted like they are servants and guards of the castle.

The spies learned that Scarlet’s father, the king of Avery, went on a far expedition through a voyage at sea and will soon arrive back home in his own kingdom. They also learned that this king is very close to his wife and daughter and the servants have mentioned how Scarlet and her mother’s lives will terribly collapse when the time of the king’s life will come to an end. The castle people have noticed that the king has been frequently traveling, even in dangerous circumstances such as huge storms and he is putting big risks on his life.

After Demetrius heard about this, he came up with a plan that could easily destroy the Avery family.

Once the king arrives, he will go and kill him instantly but will frame Scarlet as the killer. The spy that Demetrius hired is a sleuth notable for his investigatory works that has helped many good people and even few royalty. Well, that is what the people know of him but he secretly does some dirty work to much more people. He’s so good at deceiving others that all the twenty years of dirty work he’s done still hides under his mask of nobility. He will design the crime scene to make it look like Scarlet did it and all has been planned perfectly.

“Oh, my son! You are indeed the second greatest among all the dwellers of this earth right next to me, who’s the best of all, of course! You make me proud, son! Such a very well-thought plan! You always come up with the best plans and that has made us own twenty of the best kingdoms that there is! We will own the world, in no time, dear. I know we will and nothing is going to stop us. Not even these fools who are trying to fight back!” King Darius said to his only son.
