Prologue

“Rain i'm going to be home late" dad says kissing my head.

"Okay dad"

"You can tell Daniel and Jenny to come stay with you tonight. I might have an extra shift at the hospital okay?" Typical dad, always worried about me staying home alone

"Dad i'm 19, it's absurd for me to call my friends over because i'm scared my ‘daddy’ won't be home tonight. Besides i'm not in good terms with Daniel at the moment" I told him clearly

"But Rain--" He tried "Dad please I can take care, trust me please?" giving him the cute eyes. He so can't resist that

"Okay fine, do what you want. Not like what I say matters " he said leaving to the door

I hugged him from behind "Dad seriously you have to learn to trust me now. I know you're scared of what might happen but it's been years now and nothing has gone wrong. Never." I smiled to him

“Besides I didn't take karate class for nothing" he laughed out and that did the trick

He smiled "i'm sorry for being the over protective dad. I do trust you but you failed karate class" he chuckled

He wore his jacket "I have to go now or i'll be late" I nodded understanding "and call me if anything goes wrong or something weird happens" he said again

"Will do Dad" I told him while he left.

I understand why my father is being over protective.

Apparently, my dad and I aren't from the human world which I found crazy before but in time I realised how concerned he always was and still is. He explained our world to me and the reason why we had to leave to seek refuge here.

My mother left us when I was little, he wouldn’t explain further why. That's all he told me about her and nothing else.

When the time comes, I would have to go back to our world, which isn’t explained again. Just ‘When it’s the right time’

He had me attend karate class 2years ago. But I failed really badly. So ran away from the class.

It's pretty late now and i'm watching a movie with lots of snacks.

Something feels wrong. Really wrong and maybe I should have taken his advice.

I walked towards the window peeking a little. The next thing I saw really got to me. Someone's eyes just glowed bright yellow . I quickly shut the curtains, switched off the lights and ran to my room. I shut the windows, curtains and lights too.

I grabbed my phone and dialed dad's number quickly

"Hello sweet--" "Dad someone is here" I whispered

"Relax Rain, Explain " I was about to talk when I heard kicking of the door like someone is trying to open it "Dad they are trying to open the door, I saw eyes glowing bright yellow" I said almost crying on phone

"Oh my God, Rain those are wolves. Did you lock the door properly?"

Well we had a lock installed few years ago. He said something about the lock being from our world and not a normal lock.I knew he was asking about that.

"Yes I did, dad i'm scared " I said really crying. I always thought dad was over protective and slightly didn't believe everything he told me. Now that it's happening? This is really real.

"Rain I’m on my way back, not far. I'll be home in a few mins. I've contacted some of my friends they'll be there soon honey"

I don’t think they will get here on time. I’ll probably be dead before they get here.

“Rain!!” Dad shouted brining out of my thoughts

“Rain are you there”

“Yes I am, I’m here” I answered

“ just stay on the phone with me, do not go off the phone baby”

I nodded forgetting he can’t see me. “Baby if anything happens to me…” I didn’t let him finish

“Why will you say that, can you not say that”

“Rain listen please” he waited be fore he continued. “You need to find Elijah”

“I’m going to die right?” I asked him, tears running down my face, I can feel it. “Is that why you are saying this?”

“Rain this is not the time for this baby. This is serious, I really hope we get out of this trust me. But if anything happens, You need to find Elijah and Kendra. They are family, they will explain everything I promise.”

Suddenly there was a blast from the from door "find the girl now" I heard someone shout from downstairs

I whispered "Dad you have to get me out of here, they just entered

Nobody answered from the other end of the line "Dad?" I called again but he didn't answered

I held my phone close to my chest and stepped backwards till my back hit the wall. A blast broke through my bedroom door and four men came in

All with red eyes and weapons. Who uses a sword in this century. I’m so stupid, people are trying to kill me and I’m worried about the kind of weapon?.

"Please don't kill me" I hoped they will listen

"Of course little girl, we aren't here to kill you, Micheal will" One of the guys said

My window shattered while people jumped in. My attention went to 5 men that just came in and they looked normal without yellow or red eyes.

They looked at me and back at the first men. "Touch her, and you all die" One of the new guys said

One of the men with the red eyes smiled " How about we get the girl and we let you go"

The new guys charged towards the other men and they started fighting.

I took this opportunity to run outside my room towards the front door. The front door was broken. I ran out quickly but ran into two wolves outside.

I looked back into the house but I can't go. Before I can run back into the house they will catch me for sure and with the door broken already, there is no chance.

Suddenly someone came beside me and it was dad. I hugged him "Dad i'm scared" I hugged him tight

"it's okay, i'm here now" he whispered

He pulled back and pulled me behind him taking a protective stand.

He pulled out a sword that I didn't notice he had with him. The wolves lunched towards him as he did the same. Dad was fighting with two wolves. He's fighting really hard but they are really hurting him too. One bit dad's arm and the other bit his leg, he is really in pain until someone came real fast that I could almost not process seeing him come in the picture and he grabbed on of the wolves throwing him off dad.

He went after that one while dad was fighting with the other wolf. He finally took his sword and pieced into the Wolf letting it finally dropped dead.

I smiled to dad and he did the same. He was walking towards me with a smile when suddenly dad's head was pulled off his body as his body dropped dead on the floor showing a man with red eyes behind looking really pissed. I took a step back as he takes one towards me.

A man came from nowhere and started fighting with the man that killed dad. My vision was starting to get blurry and I feeling dizzy with lots of pain . My body betrayed me and fell to the ground, letting darkness overwhelm me.
