Chapter Eleven: The Meme Master Plan & The Unexpected Chat

904 Words
Kirk and Carlos were chilling in Kirk’s game room playing video games when Kirk, out of boredom, grabbed Carlos’ phone and accidentally opened Twitter. What he saw made him burst into laughter. "Bro, WHAT is this?!" Kirk cackled, scrolling through Carlos’ feed. Carlos smirked. "What?" "You’re a MEMER?! AND YOU HAVE 100K FOLLOWERS?!" Kirk wheezed. "You out here bullying Becky in real life, but online you’re making people laugh their asses off?!" Carlos shrugged. "It’s just something I do for fun." Kirk grinned. "Dude, this is GOLD. Why don’t you post memes on your w******p status? Maybe—JUST MAYBE—Becky will react." Carlos thought about it for a second. "You think that would work?" Kirk smirked. "Girls love funny guys. Maybe she’ll start seeing you as the hilarious and charming Carlos instead of Carlos, the bully." Carlos nodded slowly. "Hmm… You might actually have a point." As soon as Carlos got home, he grabbed his phone and unleashed chaos. He posted 50 memes on his w******p status. He didn’t even check if they were funny, appropriate, or even legal. There were: ✔ Dark humor memes ✔ Random animal memes ✔ Football memes ✔ A bunch of totally nonsense memes ✔ And… a few questionable NSFW memes By the time he was done, his w******p status looked like a warzone. Kirk messaged him: "Bro, you’re insane." Carlos smirked. "That’s the plan." At 11:23 PM, when Carlos was about to fall asleep, his phone buzzed. New message from Becky. His heart jumped. Becky: "Carlos, ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Carlos grinned. He quickly replied with a single laughing emoji. Becky: "What kind of statuses are these?! Some of them are OBSCENE!" Carlos: "Did you enjoy them though? 😏" Becky: "ARE YOU STUPID?! NO! Who even posts stuff like that? Don't your parents see your status?!" Carlos: "Nah, only my friends do. My parents don’t even know how to open w******p properly. 😂" Becky: "You’re hopeless." Carlos: "Yet here you are, chatting with me. 😉" Becky: "Shut up. 😑" They continued chatting—not arguing, not fighting—just making jokes and teasing each other. For the first time, Carlos felt like they were actually having fun. But just when Carlos was starting to enjoy it, Becky suddenly went offline. He stared at the screen. "Damn, she left just like that?" But even so, he felt happy. She finally talked to him first. The Next Day: Confusion Strikes Carlos walked into class the next day with a smug grin. He was convinced that last night’s chat had changed things. He spotted Becky sitting at her desk, smiling at her phone. Carlos smirked and walked up to her confidently. "Morning, nerd." Becky didn’t even look up. She was too busy typing on her phone. Carlos blinked. "Becky?" Still, no reaction. He glanced at her screen. She was chatting with… Jessy. Carlos frowned. "Wait, who the hell is Freen Sarocha?" Becky’s eyes lit up as she finally looked at him. "Wait, YOU DON’T KNOW FREEN SAROCHA?!" Carlos blinked. "Who?" Becky looked at Jessy, completely ignoring Carlos. "Can you believe this?!" Jessy rolled her eyes. "Men. They have no taste." Carlos stood there, utterly confused. Last night, she was chatting with him. Laughing at his jokes. Now, she was treating him like he was invisible?! Kirk, sitting behind him, snorted. "Oof, bro, you just got demoted from ‘meme king’ to ‘background character.’" Carlos groaned. "What the hell just happened?" Carlos sat at his desk, still watching Becky and Jessy chat like long-lost sisters. He crossed his arms and turned to Kirk. "Bro, HOW did Jessy get so close to Becky this fast? I’ve been trying for WEEKS!" Kirk smirked. "Simple. Girl stuff." Carlos frowned. "That’s NOT an answer, Kirk." Kirk shrugged. "That’s because you wouldn’t get it, bro. It’s just how girls bond. One second, they’re strangers. The next? Besties for life." Carlos wasn’t convinced. He rubbed his chin. "Hmm… this feels like a conspiracy." Kirk burst out laughing. "A conspiracy?! Dude, just accept defeat. Jessy won. Becky likes her more than you." Carlos rolled his eyes and turned back to Becky and Jessy, who were still deep in conversation. Becky: "And have you seen how Freen Sarocha looks in that suit?! Ugh, she's so hot!" Jessy: "Right?! She’s literally PERFECT! The way she acts, her smile, everything!" Carlos frowned. "Okay, WHO THE HELL is Freen Sarocha?" Becky and Jessy froze. Slowly, they turned to him, their faces filled with disbelief. "YOU DON’T KNOW FREEN SAROCHA?!" they both yelled at the same time. Carlos blinked. "No???" Jessy sighed dramatically. "Men are truly hopeless." Becky shook her head. "Carlos, I'm starting to think you have no culture." Carlos scoffed. "Excuse me?! I have culture!"Becky raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Name ONE Thai actress." Carlos opened his mouth… then closed it. Kirk burst out laughing. "LMAO, bro, you just got EXPOSED." Carlos groaned. "Fine, I don't know who she is. But why are you two obsessed with her?" Becky and Jessy looked at each other and then turned away from Carlos. Becky muttered, "He’s not worth the explanation." Carlos' jaw dropped. "EXCUSE ME?!" Kirk patted Carlos’ shoulder. "Bro, just accept it. You're never gonna understand girl logic." Carlos sighed and slumped in his seat, defeated. He thought he was finally making progress with Becky… But apparently, he had just lost to some Thai actress he had never even heard of.
