The Business

*Lucas' POV*
I walked into my office I seen Jax sitting there with a sad look on his face. "What's wrong Jax I have never seen you so down?" He sighs and looks up at me and says "I am very happy that you found Luna but I can't help feel a little jealous I am a few years older and I still haven't found mine." Realization hits me and I mentally face palm myself. "Dude I am so sorry I didn't realize you were so upset about it." I say to him. I didn't realize that he was suffering. In any wolves life all we want is our mate and before I met Kat I didn't realize how much I wanted my mate. I was so lost in thought I didn't realize that Jax was talking to me.
"So we are having a little problem with the docks." Jax said looking at me. "I thought I said I didn't want any problems while we were gone, and we were only gone for a couple of days what could've happened while we were gone." I watched him get nervous so nervous that you can see beads of sweat starting to form on his forehead. I stood up getting highly irritated. "Jax…. WHAT...… HAPPENED" I yelled more than I wanted to but my business was not something to mess around with. I stared at him waiting for an answer getting more pissed off by the second. Lets just say that my business that keeps the pack running and rich and how we became the most powerful pack on the east coast is not exactly legal, and I don't want my kitty Kat around just yet. "Well.... you.... s....see uhh" He kept stuttering which kept pissing me off even more. "Jax I am going to calm down now tell me what happened while we were away." He sat there for a second before spitting out "One of the shipments got stolen." I slammed my hand on my desk I think the whole pack house heard it because a few seconds later my third in command came in and I wanted to rip his had off because I left him in charge to take care of everything while we were away. "Ethan I suggest that you leave now before I rip your head off." I said to him in the most calm voice ever. I got up and looked to my beta "Find out who did it and take whoever did it to the cells and report back to me as long as I am not with Kat." "Why when you are not around Luna sir." Jax said in a very low tone almost like he is sacred to question his alpha and he should be. "If you must know I have not told her the type of business we run and I do not want her to know yet." I said to him and walked out of my office and down to check on my mate.
*Kat's POV*
I was sitting in my room watching whatever was on tv and I heard a big bang like someone hit something but growing up around the family business you kind f learn to ignore the strange noise like that. As I was laying there I hear a soft knock on my door and I knew that it was Lucas. "Come in." I said in a nice soft and sweet voice. He opened the door and came up to me picked me up and started sniffing my scent, my guess it was to calm him down. "Is everything alright Lucas?" I asked him in a calm voice. "Everything is always better with you." He says to me now more calm then he was before. "If I may ask why were you upset when you came in?" He sighed and looked at me like he was trying to figure out what to say or how to say it. "Just tell me what it is Lucas how am I supposed to trust you when you wont let me in." I say getting angry. How am I supposed to trust him or love him if he doesn't let me in when he is upset or angry? "Look there are somethings that you don't need to know." I looked at him as if he grew three heads.
"Are you serious Lucas 'there are things I don't need to know' seriously I am your mate and Luna you are suppose to let me in when it comes to the pack and when it comes to you. How am I supposed to trust someone who clearly doesn't trust me?" I pushed him away from me and started to walk out of our room, when all of a sudden he grabbed my arm and spun me around to where I collided with his hard chest. He leaned in close to my ear "I trust you and I want you to trust me but there are some things that I don't want you to know yet. Just trust me and I promise you in time you will know everything. okay" he looks at me with pleading eyes to trust him. "I want to. I want to trust you blindly but I can't help but feel like you are not telling me anything." I say looking at him.
I get up and start walking to the door. I opened the door and looked back to him. "I want you to leave so I can think about everything." I crossed my arms and looked to the side because I know if I look in his eyes I would cave. He sighed and begun to walk out he gave me one last look before closing the door. I hate seeing him so upset but I can't be with someone I do not trust.
I decided I will call the one person I trust with my life besides my family. I pick up my phone and dial his number when it started ringing I got nervous I haven't seen him in 3 months and he doesn't know that I have found my mate. "Hello." I hear his sweet voice. "Kalen how is the baddest b***h on the east coast doing?" Kalen has been my since I was in kindergarten and he was in first grade. "He is doing lovely just waiting to meet my mate and how is the baddest b***h on the west coast doing?" I sigh and say "Well this bad b***h isn't on the west coast anymore." I heard a loud scream and him say "Where are you now?" "I am in upstate New York." I heard another scream from Kalen "b***h THAT IS SO CLOSE TO ME!!!!!!!! I have to come and see you...… wait why are you in upstate New York?" I have to tell him that I met my mate its not or never. "So don't be mad or yell at me but, um...… I may or may not have met my mate." All I heard was a loud scream and then my mate came through my door ready to kill anyone. I started laughing so hard I fell to the floor clenching my sides. Lucas is looking at me like I have grown three heads. "What is so funny and what was that screaming?" He looked so confused I grabbed my phone and said "Kale...." a loud growl escaped from my mates lips. "WHO.... IS... THAT..." Lucas looked like he was about to kill someone again. "Kalen I will call you back in a little once I calm my arrogant mate down before he goes on a killing spree." we both laughed and said our goodbyes and disconnected the call. "Lucas if you are going to talk to me I need you to calm down." I say to him in the most calm voice I can. "Kalen..." another growl from him "Oh goddess if you really want to know who he is I can always have him come here. He goes to collage in New York." I say to him.
