16 It was close to eleven when Autumn slipped back into the apartment. To her relief, it seemed that Rachel had already disappeared inside her bedroom for the evening, because only one light was on in the living room and the television was dark. She turned off the light, went upstairs, and fell asleep almost immediately. And if she dreamed, she couldn’t remember anything of it.
