Chapter 5 Marc
‘Stand up, stand up’, from a very deep sleep he hears Solomon Burke singing him awake. ‘Nothing’s Impossible’, Burke sings on a bit later, but for Marc it seems almost impossible to wake up at this moment. Besides a short night’s rest a fascinating dream is keeping him spellbound. His alarm on the iPod increases in volume, forcing him to get out of bed. Sleepyheaded he drags himself to the bathroom and as always a cold shower aids in getting him wide awake. Very cold, but a few push-ups are enough to warm up again. A strong cup of espresso finishes it all off and after a final check to see if he’s got all the necessary documents, his laptop, phone and tablet, he leaves for the airport.
A road sign tells him the highway will be closed tonight because of reconstruction. ‘Tha
