Taivas's POV:
This village surely looks calmer and more beautiful on the fourth floor. I can enjoy this view while sipping my coffee before the commotion begins.
I take another glance at my phone at the late Chief of police's daughter. Pale skin, light pink freckles, black, shoulder-length hair, caramel brown highlights, light bangs barely covering the forehead. Five feet six inches tall, weighs 104 pounds. Big, brown, slightly hooded eyes, big smile in the photo taken with her father, a blue bag in the right hand, pink cotton candy in the other hand.
Head tilted rightwards, dimple on the right cheek, right-handed, doesn't like chocolates, in best terms with the teachers and kids at her school. Hobbies include digital art, knitting, and trying to skateboard as her father did. Five close friends, no best friends, no boyfriends. No martial arts skills, no self-defense skills. Sigh. How the hell did she escape?
The office door creaks open. Ivan, Brando, and Felix.
"Boss is not here yet?" Felix asked, sitting on one of the chairs.
"So eager to die" I smirked and leaned against the glass wall, facing them.
"Felix won't let me take one look for the girl. How far could she go in so little time?" Ivan growled.
"Wasn't Felix in charge today?" Hunt entered from the back door. Everyone was so silent, one could hear their own heart beating.
"You always follow what the man in charge says, Ivan." He settled in his chair.
Our den looks like a farmhouse from the outside, a very old four-story building, used for storage of hay and other farm supplies. Hunt's office looks like a lawyer's office with its big chandelier, big gray walls, and ceiling touching window giving the best view of the village.
"What happened with the Dorothy clan guy, Brando?" Hunt asked calmly.
"Yes, that was the bug. He ratted us out as you expected." Bran replied.
"And all the information was?"
"False. Like Tevvy told me to."
I rolled my eyes. Tevvy again. I am not five years old.
Bran got up and typed some of his keys again on his laptop.
"Now see." He pointed to the big LED screen.
"Where is the shipment from The Scorpios? This is all hay. Do I look like a horse to you?" A giant man was yelling, standing in an abandoned theme park.
"I--I don't know what--what happened here. Bran sent this address to their men and to the supplier too. I checked myself. I hacked into his system myself. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!"
"What's impossible is to hack Bran's system." A huge joker in the theme park lit up and started talking, as Hunt spoke those words in a mic.
"NO! NO! He knows!" The small guy on the screen began to tremble.
"Hope this will teach you duds to keep a distance," Hunt spoke in the mic again and the huge joker repeated the same.
"NO! I AM SORRY! PLEASE! I WIL--" and the huge joker blew up in flames, engulfing everything on the screen.
"Whoa! wha--" Bran was startled.
"Come on man, you already knew it was gonna burst." Ivan chuckled.
"Mood got better now Ivan?" Hunt smirked.
"Uh--No. It was funny that Bran got shocked--not the men blowing up--"
"But it WAS funny. Thinking begging for mercy will work with me." Hunt relaxed a little in his chair. Ivan froze a little.
"So, tell me. What went wrong? Give me one valid reason you couldn't get rid of a harmless girl."
Bran and Ivan looked at each other, confused and scared.
"So there's no reason?" Hunt pursed his lips. He looks kinda mad now.
Felix stood up. "Hunt, I know that you're mad but something was off. There were way too many guards and armed men and their backup arrived in just eight minutes, Ian should've tipped us off, but again there was no time--"
"There was a lot of time. But you decided to run off before even checking." Ivan exclaimed.
"Because of the blaring sirens dumbass. They got the backup within eight minutes. None of their men were conscious to ask for help. Then why would they more people to an already overcrowded place to guard one girl?" Felix tried to explain calmly, but I could see that he was losing his mind.
"If there was the backup from the police, Ian should have tipped us off," Bran added.
"Maybe he didn't know that they are sending in more troops," Ivan said.
"But all this happened within eight minutes. This just doesn't seem so spontaneous." Felix still looked brainstorming.
"Yes, because it looks planned to me and also how--" I was interrupted with a loud sound.
"I know you guys are having an important discussion about who should die first--" That's Maj. Why is he here?
"Not now Maj!" Feliz was a little annoyed.
"But look we have a special guest. She broke into our sweet home." Someone opened the office door, with shaking hands.
"Now put your hands up, young lady. I know I should've opened the door being a gentleman, but then who will hold this g*n against your back?" Maj entered the office with a girl on his gunpoint.
"What the heck Maj? We are in the middle of someth--" Ivan stopped in bewilderment.
Pale skin, visible bruises near left eye and lips, black, shoulder-length hair covered in hay, caramel brown highlights, light bangs barely covering the forehead, disheveled. Five feet six inches tall weighs around 102 pounds. Big, brown, slightly hooded eyes, full of fear, red because of excessive crying. The girl who broke into our den was Inaya Avens.
