Strange Dreams

Every night for the last few weeks I have been having weird dreams. It was always the same, a wordless song, flashes of a woman's eyes filled with tears, and the feeling of being carried through water.

Until tonight. This dream didn't feel like a dream. It felt real. When I opened my eyes, I was in an underwater cave. The walls were white that faded into blue. At the bottom of the wall was bright green moss.

Surprisingly I wasn't afraid that I was not breathing air but the water felt like air and silk against my body. I still had my legs so I knew it was just a dream.

I swam down the hall until it came to a door. It looked like it was grown out of the stone. The surface was the same smooth, iridescent white, but the bottom the door was a deep cerulean blue.

I could hear singing, but the words were in a language I had never heard before. It was ethereal the way the tones were reached, I felt like I was literally at Heaven's gate .

I wanted to hear more, to see who or what was making such a beautiful sound. when I placed my hand on the door, everything vanished and I was back in my bed.

I went to the mirror and looked at my reflection. My raven spiral curls were flattened with what appeared to be water. My skin now had a glow to it, but the thing that unnerved me was my dark brown eyes were now icy blue with coco flecks .

I hadn't a clue about the change in my appearence, but I knew something was off. For most of my life I had known I was adopted at three weeks old. I was found at the beach in a huge purple clam shell. The only thing I had on me, was some sort of seaweed diaper and a necklace.

My parents had given it back to me when I turned 16. I was now approaching thirty. I had been searching for my biological family.

These dreams had started after I got my necklace back. I hopped into the shower to wash the seawater out of my hair.

How was I soaked in seawater if I was only dreaming?
