HIS REDEMPTION

CHAPTER 2

Jeremy being intelligent has never shown his intelligence in this school since he was only but a new student of two weeks old. His love for things of the nature is immeasurable, he is 18 years old and is supposed to have gotten his licence but his dad deprived him all of this due to his clumsiness. Each time Jeremy remember he would go home after school, a glint of tears appears in his eye because his sound boards which are his mom who is a nurse and always busy and elder brother who was away serving the country in the military

Though Jeremy being the second son of his father also have some other younger siblings who also join in making fun of his clumsiness and as such have no respect for him and this also copulate to him loosing interest in going home each time he realizes the school period is almost over. Actually there is a person who also serve as a listener to him, a person who never gets tired of making him feel worthy, yes grandma, Nelly his fathers mother

each time I think of her my mind seems to be at peace, how I wish she would always be by my side___ but obviously not Jeremy thought aloud with a hint of sadness in his voice.

All this thought overclouded his mind and he forgot that it was time for launch before he could decide on what next to do a chalk from nowhere hit him hard on his forehead making him to look up in order to ascertain where this was coming from , then a voice from the front of the class __ a mocking one at that__ made him realize the bullies where at work

Clumsy needs me to help get his meal for him, can you imagine? mark the class bully said with a smirk on his face causing Jeremy to dash out of the class with fear of getting further bullied.

Senior Jeremy your presence is needed by Miss Yvonne in the staff room a voice of one of the junior student beckoned him from passage way that leads to the staff room

“Ok I would be there in a bit, thanks___ what could be the reason for this sudden call? he wondered

Just as he was about to leave for the office, a sharp tap landed on his shoulder causing a shiver to run through his spine, on turning around he saw Mark the bully

Do not even try to mention my name in anything you are asked in that place, are you listening or you are just playing deaf?! Mark gave him a stern warning

yes, I..I..have ha..heard you Jeremy stammered while answering Mark which showed how frightened he was before he dashed off

When he got to the staff room his eye meet a pretty girl and an handsome boy probably they were siblings or twin, he me them standing with their guardian in front of teacher Yvonnes desk, Jeremys heart skipped a beat, he couldnt explained what it was but he felt the urge to go closer and have a clearer view of the girl in particular because she took his breathe away, apparently his face was blank and he forgot he was in public filled with adults who could his access his reaction

Jerry cut the crap, do you want to get into trouble in front of everyone in this place, have you gotten the nerve to even tell her what it is you even feel for her___ wait you dont even know what it is? all these kept running through his mind and he didnt notice the attention he drew to himself, attention from his homeroom teacher and even the new students and when he noticed he quickly drew himself out of the wonderland and pretended to be acting his clumsy attitude so no one would suspect him.

Oh! Did I forget to tell you how handsome he is? Yes he got the looks I call devilishly handsome [the kind of look that makes one sin just to have him] you can also add shy to his characteristics

Jeremy?! Teacher Yvonne called obviously after observing him for a while due to the fact he was staring into space and didnt even announce his presence

Ye..yes ma..maam Jeremy stammered

The teacher sighed and gave a little smile to ease him down before asking him to sit down

Thanks maam Jeremy answered before taking his seat

Now it is just the two of us The teacher said without prolonging matters

Would you mind telling me what happened back there in the classroom?

Nothing replied Jeremy said in an undertone which made it easy for Yvonne to depict that there was truly more to it

Jeremy Yvonne called again, this time with a calm voice and more instinctively

Maam, I really dont understand why you are being so curious on this matter it was really nothing Jeremy said this with a little bit of convincing look, one would really think he was really saying the truth, but the teacher knew him so well. Rather than let him go, Yvonne pressed on more but yet again she got another lame excuse.

I think a short class trip with selected students or a study date will help, she said to herself with a thoughtful face.

So at that point she decided on a strategy to use as some sort of escape plan for Jeremy, but first and foremost she needed to know what Jeremys thoughts was on this constant bully, so she asked

If you are told to put your hands in a fire, will you do it so you dont get beaten? Teacher asked

No I wont the boy replied

Why wont you? Yvonne

“Because I might get burnt Jeremy said

Good, now you are going into that fire and because of some bully youve decided to get burnt, now if you dont heed to warnings and deviate from the fire in front of you would definitely get burnt Yvonne said

Jeremy being a brilliant boy under stood what she said and started sobbing

After a little while of uncontrollable sob he exhale deeply and voiced out

Thethe truth is, it not only In the school I get bulliedhe said

“I dont get you” said the teacher

“I get bullied even at home, my younger ones make a mockery of me because of my dumbness, my dad deprives me because of my psychological inability and my only fall backs are not around, I guess am a person can neber sum up courage to do anything in life that is if there is any medical name for it, or how else would you call this at times I feel I would never have the courage to do this my mate do for fear of being a failure he said all these without even being aware he had said more than a hundred words in the presence of his teacher, all these while his teacher took account off him with a sign of relieve

“Hmmm the teacher sigh

“How do you feel now?” She asked

Apparently Jeremy felt relieve, he must have always wanted to say all he had in his mind

“I feel like I just dropped off a lot of load in my chestI really need to gain my courage back, I have difficulty doing things my peers do, its hurts

Yvonne could feel his pain
