Ishita's Pov
Ayush Verma - that twenty year old boy considered me as the princess of the Vermas'. He respected me and adored at the same time.
And to be honest, his concern was genuine for me.
But I was too scared to reciprocate the same affection. Because I was afraid.
What was the guarantee that he will remain like this forever!
"Di." Ayush whined from the other side. He was such a kid, always begging for the attention.
"Look, Ayush. I am in a very much bad mood. So please, pass the phone to Mr. Rudra Verma now." I almost yelled at him.
"Okay." He mumbled and the line went silent for some time. He must went to call Mr. Verma.
I sighed. I knew that Ayush had a good heart. For him, I was always an ideal elder sister. He never stopped loving me, in stead of my rude behaviour towards him.
While for me, he was just an immature silly juvenial, who was unaware about the dark truths of life.
Whenever I saw him, I imagined myself there. Only if my mother would have been alive, we would have been the happiest family. Then age time passed, I became mature and realised that the place was never mine.
My mother died, it was destinied. My father remarried, it was destinied too.
Still I couldn't adjust with the new family of mine and slowly I lost the relationship I had with my father too. He became Mr. Rudra Verma for me.
My thoughts halted, as I heard deep breath from the other side. Someone had lifted the call.
"Hello, Princess." I heard his deep voice.
"Hello, Mr. Verma." I formally greeted and he sighed.
"I am happy. It had been long, I heard your voice." He said.
"It was yesterday only, we met. Remember in the conference room?" I asked sarcastically.
"Yes, but that was only a HR, who met the MD asking justice for her team member." He said.
"And nothing has changed now." I replied in a firm tone.
"With the authority, you asked me to talk to you at this hour. Can you name on which authority?" He asked and I remained silent, as I had no answer to him. "Let me help you. You use the authority of being my daughter. So I am happy as a father, princess."
"I am not your princess. But if we are talking about authority, then I want a privilege from your name." I directly came to the point.
"And what kind of privilege do you want?" He asked.
"I want you to reconsider Aahan's case." I said.
"Aahan? Who is he?" He asked in confusion.
"Aahan Choudhry - my team member, whom you fired today over the allegations of manipulating company's data." I said in one breath.
"Oh! Sorry, but I have given him a day to prove his innocence. I can't play with my company's reputation now, can I?" He replied in a professional way.
"I knew it. Your company, your ego, what happened to your princess rant now, Mr. Verma?" I yelled in anger.
"You are still my princess and I am just doing what's right. Because I know my princess. She will regret it later for taking a privilege from me - the man whom she hates." He replied in a soft voice.
I stayed silent, as every word of him was the truth. I had to think in a decent way. I can't beg him to save Aahan. Aahan won't be pleased with it. He is innocent. And I will prove it at any cost.
"I have a deal for you." He said, breaking the chain of my thoughts. Taking my silence as my consent, he continued, "So as usual, let me be the bad one here, okay? Now the deal is you have to live here in our mansion as my princess and I will teach you the politics in business. Trust me, it will prove Aahan innocent."
"I am agreeing to your deal." I said, without giving a second thought to his demands.
He went silent for a minute in shock. He didn't expect me to give in so early. But, I didn't oppose because at that moment Aahan was important. I just wanted to make everything alright as soon as possible.
"Alright then. Now go and sleep. Reach office earlier tomorrow. I will tell you what to do next." He said, while thinking about something.
"Nothing will happen to Aahan and his career, right? Give me your word." I asked.
"I will show you the path, princess. Just keep your trust on me." He said, maintaing the same soft tone.
"You are never a good father to me. But I trust you as a business man. I hope you won't break your promise. Because trust me, if Aahan will be fired, then I will give you my resignation and the last string of our connection will be broken." I said in a challenging voice and cut the call.
I knew that I was being wrong here. I was taking advantage of his feelings. But he was no saint either.
He acted like he cared for me. But then I was nothing for him. Like he replaced my mother after her death, he will replace me one day too.
And then, he called me princess. While he blackmailed me for working in his office. Now when I asked him for a help, he tricked me to stay in his mansion.
Because I was always a trophy to him. He wanted to show the world that he had a daughter, who was his pride.
And for this I hated the man, who claimed himself as an ideal father.
I hated that I am carrying his blood in my veins.
But this time, I kept my hate aside. I had to tolerate his existence because I trusted him. He could keep Aahan out of this complicated situation.
And I can do this much for Aahan, for his career, because it was his happiness too.
It felt so strange that how my life changed so soon. From being a self centered introvert, I had come here, comprising with my ego.
Aahan was changing me. And whether it was for good or bad, I had no idea.
Thinking about all this, I slept. I hope the next morning will finally put an end to all confusions and sufferings.
The night was about to pass. Only a few hours were left. I had heard that the dawn time had God's presence around us.
Folding my hands, I prayed for Aahan's happiness and took a nap for few minutes.
