Trinity couldn't sleep. She spent the entire night questioning herself. Why had her body reacted to him? Was she finally losing herself? Clay visited her mother that night, their sounds penetrating the night, but this time she experienced everything with her mother. She could relate to the pain of being betrayed by her own body.
The next morning, she woke up feeling extremely sore, her entire body aching. She was late for her daily chores. She had to clean Volka’s floor. She entered the elevator and pressed the code, but it was declined. She tried the code again but still, it was declined.
She embraced herself for her punishment. This had never happened before, but again she had never been late. She decided to prepare his breakfast first. On her way, she was confused at the unusual display of respect from the warriors and omegas, who bowed their heads in greeting.
It was in werewolf nature that the weaker wolves, particularly omegas, bowed their heads to the strong wolves, often Alphas or Betas. It was a primal instinct to obey. Although some stronger wolves possessed the willpower to resist and defy the natural order, it was an instinct to obey.
Trinity finally stopped. She looked all around her, expecting to see the dominant wolf they were all bowing to. Then she focused on their faces; it seemed like they were bowing to her, most doing it in anger. A sense of unease settled over Trinity. She scanned her surroundings once more, her eyes finally found Gorret. "Gorret, why are they all bowing to me?" she asked in confusion.
“What happened to you, Trinity?” They asked in union. “I don't know, but something is wrong, they are all bowing to me, some are even doing it in anger.” Gorret's eyes, usually bright and warm, seemed troubled. She hesitated before answering, "Trinity, you're... emitting an alpha's scent. No, that's not it, you smell like our future Luna.”
"You must be insane, Gorret. What do you mean I smell like the future Luna?" Trinity asked, horrified.
Gorret's expression remained serious; She lowered her voice and replied, "I'm not mistaken, Trinity. Your scent has changed, it's drawing their submission. What happened? Did he mark you? But I don't see a mark.”
“I don't know, how can I stop this?”
“Did you shower this morning?”
“About twenty times since I last saw him last night”
Stella entered the kitchen. She was in a happy mood. This morning, Alpha had invited her to his private floor. Although he had treated her more like a servant than a guest, it was still better than nothing.
"Why didn't you clean the Alpha's floor today?" Stella asked in resentment. If this b***h had done her duty, maybe she and the Alpha would have had some quality time. Trinity turned to face her, a mixture of confusion and exhaustion etched on her face. Meanwhile, Gorret continued to inspect her intently.
"Can you leave me alone today?" Trinity whispered, her voice barely audible. It was unusual of her to speak out.
"Who are you talking to, you bitch...?" Stella's venomous response was cut short as she felt an unfamiliar command wash over her, rendering her immobile. She looked at Trinity, her eyes now filled with a mixture of fear and shock. She tried moving again, but the command was stronger than her. Luckily, Cassandra intervened. Her voice was icy as she turned to Trinity and demanded, "Why do I smell my son all over you again?"
Stella, who was in fear, quickly recovered. She began to circle Trinity, catching the unmistakable scent of Volka on her. With a swift motion, she slapped Trinity so hard that she lost her balance. "Why do you smell like the Alpha, b***h?" She slapped her again. "Answer me!"
Cassandra couldn't believe this was happening again. She knew she had to act quickly. "Guards!" she called out, her voice firm and authoritative. "Bind her in silver and lock her away. We can't have a repeat of the past."
"Don't touch me!" Trinity's voice rang out, and to her surprise, the guards halted in their tracks. Suddenly realizing her newfound power, Trinity realized this was an opportunity she couldn't afford to miss. Cassandra's face darkened with rage as she realized what was possibly happening. She barked another order, "I said, Tie her up!" But the guards remained frozen. It was clear whose command held the greater authority.
Trinity tried again: "Tie them up." The guards swiftly obeyed, tying Cassandra and Stella to the dining table. Trinity then grabbed a towel and stuffed it into Cassandra's mouth, silencing her. She then began to search Cassandra, her hands moving quickly until she found what she was looking for - the keys to her mother's room. With the keys clutched in her hand, Trinity ran out of the dining room, slamming the door shut behind her and locking everyone inside. She ran to her mother's room.
Trinity burst through the door, her eyes scanning the dimly lit room until they landed on her mother in a corner. "Mother, mother, wake up!" Trinity's voice was laced with urgency as she rushed to her mother's side. "We must go, now!"
Vivianne focused her eyes on her daughter. It was the first time she had seen her clearly. She took in the sight of the beautiful young woman her daughter had become.
“Go, Trinity, I can't go with you. I will slow you down.”
“But…”
"Listen carefully," Vivianne's voice was weak but urgent. "You must go to the human world and find Lisa in Alavama. The code is Y2F34 - tell her that, and she'll help you. Now, go, Reika... go and be safe."
“Reika”
Vivianne looked at Trinity, a hint of a smile on her lips. "Yes, Reika... the name Akela, my wolf, gave you. Now, go... , my child."
In the dining room, Valko who had just returned from hunting was met with a scene of his mother, Cassandra tied to the dining table and gagged. The guards, maids, and even Stella lay on the floor, as if they were under some sort of strange command.
“What's going on here?” He asked as he freed his mother from her restraints. “All of you stand up and tell me what's happening.” The guards, maids, and Stella slowly rose to their feet, their expressions dazed and confused. "Tell me what happened," Valko demanded.
“Trinity…”
He didn't let them complete the sentence. He was already headed to her mother's room. He had no idea how she had managed to command them but he knew she would never leave her mother behind. Valko burst into Vivianne's room, his eyes scanning the space until they landed on Trinity, who was kneeling beside her mother pleading with the woman to come with her.
“Trinity”
Trinity's heart skipped a beat as she heard her name on Valko's lips. It was rare for him to call her by her name. Ever since she was a baby, he loved to use affectionate nicknames when speaking to her. "Come here, Trinity," he commanded, his tone brooking no disobedience. Despite not being able to feel the power in his command, Trinity hesitated for only a moment before moving towards him, her instincts warning her that it was unwise to provoke him further.
Valko's piercing gaze bore into Trinity. What was he going to do with her now? The silence between them was thick with tension.
