I slowly opened my eyes. The bright white light coming from the unfamiliar ceiling made me wince in pain. My head was throbbing, and it took me a few moments to realize where I was. Panic surged through my body like a wildfire when the memories of the events leading up to my hospitalization flooded my mind. "My baby!" I yelled, immediately sitting up and noticing the IV connected to my wrist. It dawned on me that I was in a hospital.
