CHAPTER 2:

Senzo walked into the house,feeling a sense of trepidation. His dad,Mkhululi, was sitting on the couch ,looking serious.

"Oh,Senzo,kunjani my son?"Mkhululi asked,

his voice firm but gentle."come and sit down,my boy,we need to talk".

"Kuyaphileka dad,"Senzo replied, he sat down next to his dad,feeling a sense of uncertainty. What did his dad want to talk to him about?

"Senzo,i know you're going through a hard time,where you don't even know where to cry,and what to do.you're still a child,when you did something wrong as parents we need to censure you for what you did.but now what i want you to know is that,I'm here for you,kanye noMama wakho,we'll always be on your side,no matter what".

Senzo felt a sense of surge of emotion,but tried to stay calm,"thanks dad,"he said,his voice barely above whisper.

Mkhululi put a hand on Senzo's shoulder. "Senzo,I know you're worried about the future.but i want you to know that we'll get through this together.we'll figure out a way to make it work."

Senzo looked up at his dad,feeling a sense of gratitude.He knew that his dad was trying to help,but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

"What's going on, dad?"Senzo asked,his voice firm."you're not telling me something.What is it?"

Mkhululi took a deep breath before speaking

"Senzo,you know that your mom and I have been struggling to make ends meet,right?"he asked,his voice hesitant.

Senzo nodded,feeling a sense of unease.He had suspected that things were tough,but he had no idea how bad it was.

"Well,things have gotten worse,"Mkhululi continued."we're in danger of losing the house,Senzo we can't afford to pay the mortgage anymore .

Senzo felt like,he had been punched in the gut.losing the house?how could this be happening?

"What are we going to do"?,Senzo asked,feeling a sense of panic.

Mkhululi shook his head,"yazi,I don't know,son.i've trying to find a new job,but it's tough out there.And with the baby on the way...well,things are just getting more complicated. "

Senzo felt a surge of anger and frustration.why was this thing happen?why couldn't things go smoothly for once?

But as he looked at his dad,he saw the worry and fear on his face.And he knew that he had to be strong.for his dad,for his mom,and for the baby.

"We'll figure it out,dad,"Senzo said,trying to sound confident."we'll find a way to make it work".

Mkhululi smiled weakly,looking relieved."Thanks,son.That means a lot to me".

"And,..well, things have really gotten worse,"Mkhululi said, his voice firm, "we're also in debts Senzo,. We owe a lot of money to the bank,and we don't know how we're going pay it back,"

Senzo,became more frightened.he had no idea that things were that bad.

"What does this mean?"Senzo asked,his voice shaking.

Mkhululi sighed, "it means we have to sell the house,Senzo.We might move to a smaller place."

Senzo felt a wave of panic wash over him.sell the house?move to a smaller house?This was his home,the only home he had ever known.

"What about Zama and the baby?",Senzo asked,his voice firm,"what are we going to do about them?

Mkhululi looked at Senzo,his expression serious."that's the thing,Senzo.We can't afford to take care of Zama and the baby on our own . we're barely scraping by as it is."

Senzo felt a surge of anger and frustration.

That wasn't fair.Zama and the baby deserved better than this.

"What are we supposed to do,?Senzo asked,his voice shaking with emotion.

Mkhululi sighed, "I don't know Senzo.I've been trying to think of a solution,but i just don't know what to do.We can't afford to raise a child,not on our own".

Senzo felt like he had been punched in the gut.

He couldn't belive what he was hearing.His parents,who had been always be there for him,were telling him that they couldn't afford to take care of Zama and the baby.

This was a wake-up call for Senzo.he realized that he had been living in the bubble,thinking that everything would always be okay. but now he was faced with the harsh reality of their situation.

He looked at his dad,feeling a sense of determination."we'll figure it out dad",he said,his voice was firm,we'll find a way dad."

Mkhululi looked at him,a small smile on his face.

"I know we will ,Senzo,we'll get through this together."

Senzo's mind was racing as he left the house.

He couldn't belive what his dad had just told him.they were in debt,and they might have to sell the house?it was too much to take in.

As he walked to Zama's house.he couldn't help but think about their future.what were they going to do?how were they going to take care of the baby?

When he arrived at Zama's house,he found her sitting on the couch, looking worried.

"Hey,what's wrong,?"he asked,sitting down next to her.

Zama looked up at him,her eyes filled with tears."I've been thinking about our situation, Senzo.i don't know how we're going to do this.we are so young,and we have a baby on the way.what if we can't take care of it?

Senzo took her hand,trying to reassure her.

"We'll figure it out, Zama.We'll make it work.we have to."

Zama nodded,but Senzo could see the doubt in her eyes.he knew that she was scared,and he didn't blame her,he was scared too.

As they sat there,holding hands and trying to make sense of their situation,Senzo knew that he had to do something. He had to find a way to take care of Zama,and the baby,no matter what.

He looked at Zama,determination in his eyes,

"I'll take care of us,Zama.i promise mntakwethu.we'll get through this together."

Senzo spent the rest of the day,thinking about Zama's family's offer.he knew that it would a big help to have a place to stay and some support,but he was still worried about losing his independence.

As he walked home from Zama's house,he couldn't shake the feeling of that he was making a big mistake.he felt like he was giving up on his dreams and his future.

When he arrived at home,his mom,Magumede was waiting for him in the living room,"Hey, Senzo,how was your day?"she asked looking at him with concern.

Senzo shrugged ,feeling a sense of frustration.

"It was fine,Mom,just lot to think about. "

His mom,Magumede nodded,understanding,"I know,it's tough, Senzo,we'll get through this together as family."

Senzo looked at his mom,feeling a sense of gratitude.she was always there for him,supporting him and encouraging him to be his best self.

"Thanks,Mom,"he said,feeling a sense of relief.

"I just need sometime to think about everything. "

His mom nodded,smiling,"take all the time you need,Senzo,we'll be here for you no matter what."

As Senzo,went to his room to think,he felt a sense of hope only.maybe things would work out after all .maybe he and Zama could build a future together,despite all the challenges they were facing.

But as he lay in bed,trying to fall asleep, he couldn't shake the feeling of that something was off.something was bothering him,but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.

As he drifted off to sleep,he knew that he would have to face whatever challenges came his way.he would have to be strong,not just for him self but,for Zama and their unborn child.

The next morning, Senzo woke up feeling a sense of determination. He knew that he had to make a decision Zama's family's offer,and he couldn't put it off any longer.

He got dressed,and went downstairs to the kitchen,where his mom was making a breakfast. "Mom,can I talk to you about something,?"he asked,sitting down at the table.

His mom,looked up from the stove, a concerned expression oh her face."Of course, Senzo.What's on your mind?"

Senzo took a deep breath,and explained situation with Zama's family.his mom listened attentively,her expression growing more and more serious.

When Senzo,finished talking,his mom sat down next to him,and put a hand on his shoulder. "Senzo,I know this is a tough decision, but I think you need to consider what's best for you and Zama,and the baby."she,said ,"if Zama's family,willing to help you out,maybe it's worth considering. "

Senzo nodded,feeling a sense of relief. He had been hoping that his mom would see things his way.

"But what about our independence?"Senzo,asked,"I don't want to be reliant on Zama's family forever."

His mom,smiled and squeezed his shoulder.

"I understand that Senzo,but sometimes you have to swallow your pride and accept help when you need it.and now you and Zama need all the help you can get."

Senzo nodded,feeling a sense of determination.he knew what he had to do.

He Would accept Zama's family's offer,and move in with them.it was the best decision for everyone involved.

As he stood up to go call Zama, and tell her the news,his mom stopped him,"Senzo,wait,"she said,"there's something I need to tell you".

Senzo turned to her,feeling a sense of curiosity, "what is it,Mom,?he asked.

His mom took a deep breath before speaking, " Senzo I've been keeping something from you,something important."

Senzo's curiosity, was piqued, "what is it ,Mom?"he asked,feeling a sense of trepidation.

His mom,hesitated, looking like she was unsure of how to proceed. "Senzo,you know your and I have been struggling financially?",she asked.

Senzo nodded,feeling a sense of unease ,"yeah I know . you've been talking about it a lot lately. "

His mom took a deep breath, "we'll it's worse,like we are about to lose averything,"

"Oh...yeah,dad had already told me about that and..."Senzo replied ,"what are we going to do now Mom"?

His mom shook her head,"I don't know,Senzo,I've trying to came up with a plan,but I just don't know what to do."

Senzo felt a sense of determination wash over him.He was willing to do whatever it took that is good ,to help his parents,to help his family.

a"Mom,can I ask you something?"he said . looking at her with a determined expression.

"Of course, Senzo.What is it?",his mom replied,looking at him with mixture of curiosity and concern.

"What's the exact amount,that we owe on the Mortgage,?"Senzo asked,his eyes locked on his mom's.

His mom hesitated for a moment before answering, "it's...it's a lot Senzo,we owe over R85 000."

Senzo's eyes widened in shock, he had no idea that it was that much.

But he didn't let the shock discourage him.

Instead, he felt a sense of determination wash over him.He believed that he was going to get Atleast some job,so that he can try to contribute, helping his parents.

"Mom,I'm thinking to get a job for now,then I'll continue with school after,I promise."his voice firm.

His mom looked at him,a mixture of surprise on her face,"but,Senzo at the same time remember you're still a child you have to focus on your studies,"

"Yes Mom, but its my fault of adding more problems because now I have a child on the way,on the other side it's you and dad ...like Mom please allow me ,I can do this,then take my word,I'll go back to school after."

"...Se..Senzo ,hayi ngane yami,okay,it's okay my child you can do it but after make sure you go back to school,cz all you need is to build a better future for you and your family,okay you do it."

Senzo,nodded,his mind already racing with ideas.he was ready to do this,no matter what.

As he stood up to leave,his mom call out to him,"Senzo,wait!"

He turned to her ,curious. What is it mom?"

His mom,looked at him with a serious expression on her face."I love you my child, and your dad do,don't disappoint us".

Senzo nodded,feeling a sense of determination. "Don't worry ,Mom.'I'll be careful, I promise. "

His mom nodded,looking relieved."okay,Senzo,just be careful, okay?"

Senzo nodded again,feeling a sense of resolve.

As he left the house,Senzo felt a sense of purpose.he was ready to find a job,to save his family.

He walked to Zama's house,feeling a sense of determination.When he arrived ,he found Zama sitting on couch, looking worried.

"Hey,Senzo, what's wrong?"she asked,looking up at him with concern.

Senzo took a deep breath, feeling a sense of resolve."I just walked to my mom,Zama we're in a big trouble. We owe more than R85 000 for the mortgage, and the bank is threatening to foreclose.

Zama's eyes widened in shock."oh no ,Senzo what are you going to do?"

Senzo felt a sense of determination, "I'm going to try getting a job for now,then after I'll go back to school.

Zama nodded,looking impressed, "I know ,Senzo you can do that you're strong a determined. I'll help you too,we'll figure it out together ".

Senzo smiled,feeling a sense of gratitude."thanks Zama,that means a lot to me."

As they sat there ,holding hands,looking at each other,Senzo felt a sense of hope.

Senzo and Zama,sat in silence for a moment, thinking about their situation, Then ,Zama spoke up,

"Senzo,I have a idea,"she said,her eyes sparkling with excitement. "My Mom's sister has a friend who ownes a business, maybe we can talk to her,and see if he can help us out."

Senzo's eyes lit up with interest."that's a great idea, Zama! let's go and talk to her and see what she says."

Zama nodded and they quicker made plans to visit the business owner.As they walked to the business, Senzo felt a sense of hope that he hadn't felt in a long time.maybe,just maybe,they could find a way out of this mess.

When they arrived at the business, they were greeted by a friendly looking woman,with a warm smile.

"Hello there,young ones!," she said, shaking their hands."I'm Mrs Mjwara .What can I do for you ?"

Senzo and Zama explained their situation, and Mrs Mjwara listened intently.When they finished,she nodded thoughtfully.

"I think,I might be able to help you guys ,"she said,"but, it's going to take some hard work and dedication. Are you up for challenge?"

Senzo and Zama exchanged the look,and then nodded in unison.

"Yes,we're up for it,"Senzo said,feeling a sense of determination.

Mrs Mjwara smiled,looking pleased."good!,I'll tell you what I have in mind.but first,let's get one thing straight:I'm not going to give you any handouts.you're going to have to earn everything you get,"

Senzo and Zama nodded, understanding. They were willing to do whatever to save their families and their future.

although it was tough for them bit they tried holding together,trying to face what they to face because it was really their duty.Senzo had some doubts and fears,he regret himself of what he had done at this young age,he never think of thing like that to come.
