Chapter 9

When I was a young boy, early twenties, I was concidered a master mind. I was called the DaVinci of our time, the western Einstein, all kinds of names. My intelligence made me famous among the elites of the world. Soon, I started receiving invitation from every major corporation in the world. As I was looking through the letters, one caught my attention, it was from a certain Dr. Jason Kyle.
As much as I'm honored by these emails, Dr. Kyle's project was something else. A machine, capable of looking forward in time. Not original, but he had my curiosity. I immediately emailed him back and waited for a response. And I went to bed.
The next day I woke up. I had three notifications, all of them from the man himself. He wanted to meet me at his workshop later this afternoon. Excited, I packed all my stuff, research, everything that would help him build this machine and left.
I arrived early and he was surprised when he saw me:
"You're awfully early. Please, come in"
We entered the house. It was a huge building inside-out :
"Daddy, come play with me!!"
A little girl ran in the room. She hugged him:
"Daddy can't right now sweetheart, he has work to do. Hey, if I finish early we'll go get ice cream how about that?"
"YAYYY!! ICE CREAMM!!"
She ran outside to play:
"Sorry, she gets excited over ice cream. I've been very busy lately, haven't been able to play with her, and I don't see her much . Now, please follow me."
We walked upstairs, to his office. We sat and talked for hours about, almost everything. Then he started talking about TITAN:
"So basically it's this machine that can show you your entire life. I got the blueprints, the necessary equipment, everything. Just need someone that can help me with an equation, a formula, that will unlock everything"
He hands a piece of paper:
"Can you solve it?"
I nodded. I couldn't believe he trusted me.
I returned home and began immediately on solving it. I failed a lot of times,but each time I came closer to the solution.
After two whole days, I've finally solved it. I didn't eat anything so I grabbed a few snacks, and went back to his house:
"Ah. Thank you very much for this. You know, we should work more together..."
He hands me some sort of key, smiling:
"You should be closer to your new work place. The guest house is on the other side of the garden. Welcome to your new home."
I can't believe it's all happening so fast...
2 March 2023:
I've been working a lot lately, with Dr. Jason. Together we worked on, and built, our first TITAN machine. With that, I started working on a few side projects of my own. An Artificial intelligence, the most advanced A.I to ever exist. I'm still working on it's name. All I know is that it will be more advanced than others. Capable of hacking any computer in the world.... I hope.
10 february 2031:
I've been working with the Kyles for about three to four years. Maybe even more. But that day was a devastating one for the family. Hiss wife passed away, and I know that they are divorced, but the little girl used to live with her,and now that she's gone I guess she'll be living with her father. I don't think she remembers me. Heck I don't think she knows who I am, or that I live with them.
Another thing that happened that day, and it was so weird.
Dr. Jason came to me panicking, he started yelling at me, telling me to write everything in a journal which is what I did. He also kicked me out of their house.
Such a weird day....
11 February 2031:
The Kyles let me stay in their home one last time. Next morning I packed all my stuff and left the house.
I ordered a taxi, since I didn't have a car....
Then it happened.
A truck came out of nowhere. It hit the car that I was in. We hit the wall and all the windows broke. The glass penetrated my skeleton and everything went black.
Apparently, I died for seven minutes then brought back. But I went in a coma for a week. During this week I had numerous visits from people,including Dr. Jason Kyle, who wrote on my wrist a name "Sarah".
When I was fully awake, the doctors explained what happened to me. They even asked me a few questions but I couldn't answer anything.
They explained that I suffered from memory loss. Time passed, I returned to my own house.
18 June 2042 :
It's been eleven years since the accident. Eleven years have passed, I my memory back, And was shattered that as I heard the news. Dr. Jason died of a heart attack. The funeral took place in their home town. I spoke with some of his old friends, his daughter who was now a young lady and went back home.
19 June 2042:
Someone knocked on my door. When I opened the door there was no one. Except a sealed box...
I took it inside, opened it. It was from Jason, he gave me everything. All the blueprints, drawings, plans... Everything about his projects, including Titan. He also wrote me a message:
"Find him. Let the revolution begin. Stop them!"
Honestly these cryptic messages terrified me. Who's he?? What revolution?
Back then I didn't know. But now I do.
11 January 2046
It's been five years since I received the package. I built my own TITAN, which is great considering some of my other projects didn't work out a lot.
I decided to go inside it, to test it, then I saw it! Everything!
In the far futur, the world will be divided. Earth was destroyed, people were burning alive. A woman looked at me. I could see rage in her eyes. She said: " They've won. Without it, mankind has no hope."
I could see the fire behind her coming closer and closer until it reached us. She screamed:
"FIND US JOHN!! YOU HAVE TO FIND US!!!"
Then she pushed me off the building.
I woke up, scared about the "dream".
I looked around, something was not right. There were documents on the table but now they're gone. DID SOMEONE ENTERED THE HOUSE??
They even wrote a note:
"Find Jack Ryder"
I didn't even know who the hell this guy was.
I immediately called my friends and asked them to come to my place fast.
I explained to them everything that's happened, and told them that we were going to create a group of somekind. w
With the help of Dr. Palmer, Jason's work, and a few augmented people, we formed the resistance and started fighting against the injustice. Injustice that the government has been doing against the evolved ones. We started our, I would 't call them terrorist attacks, but more like awarness acts to illuminate the corruption.
And I started searching for them, Jack Ryder and the woman. But didn' t find them anywhere.
9 April 2047:
We've been in the shadows for the past year, still getting ready for our big mission. I did find Jack Ryder. He was working at a corporation, Dexcorp.
The other woman was just luck, as I was watching the news and saw a familiar face on television.
YES!! It was her, the woman from my vision.
"Sarah Kyle???!!!! Impossible !! Jason wanted his daughter to participate in the revolution??"
I couldn't sleep that night. And when I did go to sleep, one of my guys woke me up. Something about intercepting a message from Dexcorp.
" I've spoken with Montreal about her. And I have arranged a conference for her to show Titan. She'll be there at dawn.... "
" And that's not all boss. There's a lower frequency with a hidden message we decoded. The message said" I have arranged a firing squad to kill the target. If she finds out about the true meaning of her vision she'll be a threat to us." The "conference" will be the execution and the target is Mrs. Kyle.
"Well we'll have to intercept the convoy then. Daedalus..."
"Yes sir?"
"Hack into Dexcorp. I want everything about the convoy and everyone who's in it."
"Yes sir"
21 April 2047:
We were getting ready to attack the convoy and kidnap Sarah. We sent a team of twelve men. Since we know who's in the convoy, we don't have any problem with killing them so I gave them a green card. Kill everyone without any survivors and so they did.
A few hours passed, my men returned home with Sarah
"Boss we got her. But Elias did something"
"I killed everyone!! Hell yeah!!"
"And?"
"He killed your man."
I looked at him, quietly, then went full force on him:
"YOU i***t!! YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE?? THE MAN THAT YOU KILLED IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE WOMAN YOU JUST SAVED."
I kicked him outside and told him :
"YOU DON'T COME BACK UNTIL YOU'VE CORRECTED YOUR MISTAKE! DR. PALMER, tell him what to do! I need a drink"
Three days later he came back, said the job was done. But left and never returned.
Then I talked to Sarah, told her everything we know. We told her about David's plan and how important she is.
She believed us and everything was good.
9 may 2047:
That day, I met with Jack for the first time and with the help of Sarah, we made him enter Titan and left him.
"We have to get him on our side, he still thinks David is the good guy"
"He will find out. Soon...."
