Mace laid in bed taken over by a deep sleep. His soft snoring made Jessica smile. Sighing, she looked at her phone. She had an hour before her shift started. Softly, Jessica walked away from Mace, pausing for a moment at the door to look back at him.
Quietly, Jessica left his room and headed for her guest room to change for work. She didn’t have much time, so she quickly threw up her hair and got ready.
Looking up in the mirror, seeing Mace’s reflection startled her. “What are you doing?” His voice was low. No emotion. He just stood in the doorway looking at her with disapproval.
