Chapter 3

Tonight’s outing was themed little black dress regardless in the drop of the cold temperature at night. Jessica passed on the hooker heals Emily tried to talk her into wearing and settled for sparkly black flats. Taking an Uber downtown, Emily talked the ear off of the driver. Getting out of the car in front of the club Emily’s long bleach blond hair swayed side-to-side as she moved. Emily’s dress, what there was of a dress, was short, plunging neckline in the front and a scooping back. Her body screamed s*x and she wanted everyone to look. Walking up to the bouncer of the club, Emily greeted him as in they were granted entry, skipping the line of people waiting outside. All of Emily’s assets were out on display. She was a tiger on the prowl for a kill. Nothing shy about Emily. Making their way to the bar Emma and Erika smiled as Jessica and Emily met up with them. On cue Emily started round one. “Shots!” Ordering vodka shots to start the night. Shots and drinks will be followed by dancing on the dance floor, then getting into VIP for more drinks and available men to mingle with. And most importantly, Emily hooking up with a guy to get laid. It was the same routine every time they came out. Jessica only complained sometimes. The one thing she never complained about was not having a good time. Emily knew how to party and rope in guys. Since they lived together, Jessica felt obligated to be responsible for Emily. Sometimes Emily listened to her other time Emily did what she wanted, when she wanted, and who she wanted to do it with. As the music pounded, Jessica watched Emily dance. Emily had slammed down three shots before hitting the dance floor and was already feeling the flow of alcohol. Jessica had passed her second and third shot off back to the bar tender and sipped her cran-vodka. Emily danced and grinded from guy-to-guy until she found one who fit the bill. Tall, dirty blond hair, neatly put together. He took control of Emily while she danced and captured his attention. Emily yelled over the loud music, “Come on, Bo invited us to join him and his friends at their table.” Locked hand-in-hand, Bo led Emily through the crowd. She danced and followed his lead celebrating her success catching a hot man on the dance floor. Jealous stares from other single ladies watched Emily follow Bo wishing it was them. Emma, Erika, and Jessica followed behind as instructed. As Bo approached the VIP area, the bouncer unclipped the red velvet rope and let all of them through. Bo must be a regular. No checking for a wrist band beneath his long black dress shirt. No words exchanged. Jessica surveyed the area. It did not take long for Emma and Erika find two available guys in the group to go up to and became friendly with. It was a matter of time before they had their hooks into them like Emily who was already all over Bo making out with him. As Bo sat down on the black couch, he pulled her down with him, Emily startled his lap steaking her claim. It never takes her long to get her hooks into a guy. I hope you are ready for her. The poor guy doesn’t know what he is getting sucked into. When Emily becomes fixated on a new guy she always gets what she wants and guys always come back for more. s*x was on the menu tonight. Maybe for all three of them. Jessica felt out of place standing against the railing as her friends all had guys to tend to their needs. Going to a club or a bar to meet a guy just to hook up was not high on Jessica’s list. Nor the swipe left or right on an app to find a date to hook up. Being single, no strings attached was okay by her. No risk of getting hurt or wasting time on the wrong person. More single girls from the dance floor joined the VIP section trying to get attention of the other guys who were on the hunt for entertainment. Getting bumped and pushed as the other girls competitively made their way to other guys was becoming annoying. Jessica started to walk back down towards the dance floor. Before she reached the exit Emily saw Jessica trying to leave. “Hey where are you going Jessi?” Emily came up for air but did not dismount the prey she was feasting on. “Bathroom. I will catch you later.” Jessica really didn’t need to go to the restroom. She needed space. She wasn’t feeling it tonight. Leaving one crowded area for another, making her way through the maze of people dancing was a challenge. Fog stretched across the dance floor as laser lights danced to the rhythm of the music. As she worked her way through the maze of people dancing, an arm wrapped around her waist tightly pulling her in the opposite direction she was heading. A stranger was pulling her back to dance with him. “Hi sweetheart. You look fine.” Ugh. “No thank you.” Jessica tried to take a step forward but couldn’t. “I’m not interested. Let me go.” Now trying to push his arm off of her wait, the guy kept his grip around refusing to release her as he tried to grind behind her. Alcohol reeked off his breath. “Let me go.” “Asshole she said let go.” A tall, muscular, dark-haired man walked up and pulled the guy off of Jessica. Her dark knight gave the guy a deathly stare but kept hold of his grip. “Diego! Throw this trash out.” The stocky bouncer from the VIP area followed the command. “Thank you.” Looking at the mysterious, attractive guy, Jessica smiled. “I’m Jessica. Can I buy you a drink or something?” There was something about him that intrigued her. “Jessica you can join me” as he nodded to the VIP section she just left. Of course, someone as dark and gorgeous as him would be in VIP. Funny, she didn’t remember seeing him up there a few minutes ago. Smiling she followed him. The least she could do was have a drink with him. “You do not seem like you are having a good time like your friends.” Jessica took note her friends were still with the same guys right where she left them a few minutes ago. Mace poured them drinks and sat down at an empty couch away from the group. Jessica sat where she could still keep an eye on her friends. “Sometimes someone has to be the responsible one.” Mace nodded and looked over at Emily who was one zipper away from having s*x where she was grinding against Bo. The sight of them sickened her. “They are good guys. Just looking to relax and have fun.” “Says the guy who sits in the shadows.” Jessica took note he walked right past the clique of girls looking for a hook up on their way through the VIP section, not giving them the time or day. And here he was sitting with her, making small talk. Mace raised an eyebrow at her statement. Her keen observation intrigued him. Her scent filled his head. Like fresh rain during a thunderstorm. Clean and electrifying. There was something different about her. Something inside him stirred as he watched her. He wondered if she tasted as good as she smelled. Sex was tick in the air. Jessica’s eyes watched Mace as his sipped his drink. His muscles filled out his black dress shirt that was rolled up to his elbows. Tattoos lined his right arm. Kissed by the sun, his tan bronzed skin called to her to touch him. His dark brown eyes and short black hair drew her to him. His eyes had a dangerous look, but she wasn’t scared of him. Mace sat back on the couch watching her. Waiting for her to come to him. Most females would jump on him the moment he laid eyes on them. Not Jessica. She was examining him with her beautiful slate blue-green eyes. There was a glow in them that was memorizing to him. Go to her. I want her. Shadow, Mace’s wolf, was trying to push him forward, wanting to touch her. Ever since her sweet rain scent hit his nose, his wolf was in a frenzy stirring inside him. Shadow, just wait. They always come to me. Have a little patience. Widening his legs, he needed to relax. Everything in him was urging him to go to Jessica, throw her over his shoulders and claim her in the private room in the back. Have his way with her until she couldn’t walk out of the room, make her feel things she has never felt before. That’s what I’m talking about. She wants us. Go to her and take her. Shadow was drooling at the chance to be with her. Just looking at Jessica was making him hard for her. The buzzing of his cellphone broke Mace’s thoughts. Checking his message, he placed his drink down and looked up at Jessica. Leaning into her, he drew in a sweet breath of her scent as he spoke in her ear. “Unfortunately, I must go. I hope to see you around here again soon.” He lingered near her neck for a second longer, careful not to touch her, before making himself back away from her. The deep, raspy sound of his voice made Jessica wet. Holding her breath, butterflies danced in her stomach wondering if he would kiss her. He was so close she could touch him, but didn’t. All she could do was smile silently as she continued to hold her breath being so close to him. There was more he wanted to explore, but it would have to wait for another night. Duty called as he went over to his friends ending their party early and departing. Jessica watched Mace as he left. He was dangerous. Bad boy she wanted to make bad decisions with. There was something about him that she could not take her eyes off of until he was out of sight. Swallowed up by the crowd.
