Christy continued crying despite her colleagues efforts at consoling her.
"Let's go home" Kamara said, trying to drag Christy up.
"Just go. I can't appear like this in front of my Mom" Christy replied.
"It's almost 6:30pm and you know what Lagos is like at night" Betty added but Christy ignored her. "At the count of 10, if you've not stood up and wiped your tears, I'll leave" Betty threatened. She counted up to 10 and when she saw that there was still no response from Christy, she left.
Kamara also got tired and left too because she had to pick up something from the market before heading home though she advised Christy to call the security guards if it became too late for her to go home.
"Miss Christy?" The CEO called out as Christy was about boarding a bus. She backed down and walked up to him with confusion and weariness written all over her face.
"What were you thinking boarding a bus in this Lagos at night? You should have booked an Uber. What if something bad happened to you?" The CEO chided.
"Excuse me" Christy said, quietly turning to leave.
The CEO drew her back "You don't look alright. It's because of what I said earlier, right? I'm sorry"
The CEO has not been himself since he stepped out of Christy's office after chastising her. His conscience judged her and if Christy ran into the hands of bad people, he won't be able to forgive himself. "How about going to that restaurant so I can apologize properly and lighten your mood?" The CEO requested.
"Okay"
"I'm really sorry" The CEO began when they were already seated and served by the waitress.
"I'm good. No need" Christy replied
"Miss Christy..." The CEO started saying.
"Just Christy. Incompetent Christy, Stupid Christy, Christy that can't get anything right..." Christy burst into tears again.
Shifting uneasily on his seat, The CEO tried to comfort Christy. Christy's phone has been ringing incessantly for sometime now and The CEO decided to answer the call since it was Christy's mother calling.
"Christy, where have you been? It's already late and you're not yet back" Bianca said, clearly worried.
"Good evening, Ma'am. She'll soon be on her way" The CEO replied.
"Who are you?" Bianca was already panicking.
"I'm her boss at work. You don't have to worry about her. I'll bring her home safe and sound." The CEO reassured.
"Hope she's alright?" Bianca asked.
"Yeah, she is"
"Thank God" Bianca heaved a sigh of relief and ended the call.
"Have you seen the kind of worry you're causing your Mom by staying out late?" The CEO remarked, leading Christy to his car parked a few metres away.

In the twins' school
"Dude, may I have your phone?" Elvis asked. He is one of the twin's roommates in school
"No. You may not" Valentine answered, sarcastically.
"Am I even asking?"Elvis retorted and ran off with the phone. He returned a few minutes later looking sorry.
"What happened?" Valentine asked, in between mouthful of cereals with milk.
"I saw something I shouldn't have seen" Elvis replied.
"What was that?" Valentine asked again, pausing his spoon in it's umpteenth journey to his mouth.
"Nevermind"
Valentine sighed, "That's why I don't like you. You love keeping people in suspense"
Suddenly, chaos erupted in front of their dormitory and everyone rushed out to know the cause of the commotion.
Two boys were fighting.
"Sam and John, again?" Someone asked.
"It might be over Madam BB this time" Valentine noted.
"Madam Big Boobs? She doesn't have anything to do with this oo. Maybe it's because of Prisca" Elvis said.
"Who's Prisca?" Valentino asked, looking lost.
"That fair girl I should you on f*******: yesterday" Valentine reminded.
"Oh!"
"Are you trying to tell me that all this cacophony was generated because of a homosapien female that was visualised on f*******:?" Williams, the popular bookworm cut in.
"Encyclopedia, did you see me in your dream last night? Please leave us" Valentine taunted. "These guys are fighting because of a pretty girl they barely know. I wonder what they'll do if they see Big Sis" Valentine whispered into his brother's ear.
Valentino smiled.
"You guys should excuse me. I have to go finish up my cereals" Valentine said and ran off and on getting to his room, he met an empty plate that was thoroughly licked. He was furious.
"Oh! Someone has stolen my cereals that I left here just now" Valentine complained to Valentino.
"Why are you telling me? Endure it now" Valentino said smiling mischievously.
It infuriated Valentine the more. "The person also licked my plate" Valentine continued and they both marched to their prime suspect's room.
"Augustine, bring it out" Valentine ordered the boy.
"What is that?" The boy asked back.
"I saw you when you were taking my cereals" Valentine added in a bid to scare him because he didn't actually catch him stealing the cereals.
"I didn't take anything oo. I don't even enter your room without your permission.
"Liar" Valentino retorted. By then, the twin's friends had already converged to beat the poor boy up.
Augustine, brought out a black leather belt that was strictly forbidden in the school from his bag. He was fully prepared to fight anybody that that dares him. Another fight was brewing.
Most of the dormitory inmates ran outside to avoid stray punches landing on them but the twins stood their ground. They had the hunch that Augustine was the cereal culprit.
In a twinkle of an eye, Valentine punched Augustine and a fight ensued. Unnoticed, Williams snuck out and informed their Dormitory Master about the fight, who in turn, punished the twins and Augustine for fighting.
