Chapter 8 - EAST OR WEST

"Let's play poker. If I win, you'll have to do something really special for me" Louis suggested. Christy usually comes to spend time with him in his office during lunch break.

"What do you wish for?" Christy asked in a carefree manner. She was confident that she would win.

"It's a secret. But if you happen to win, then I'll do one special thing for you too" Louis explained.

"Okay. I'm in. Deal the cards" Christy said with enthusiasm.

Louis dealt the cards and the game began in earnest. At first, it was easy for Christy to read Louis's mind but after sometime, Louis veiled his face and mind and beat Christy with 3 points.

"Now, I'll do something for you" Christy said while arranging the cards.

"Yeah"

"East or West?" Christy asked.

"Huh?" Louis asked, perplexedly.

"I mean choose between East and West" Christy said, looking into Louis's eyes.

"East" Louis finally made a decision.

Christy got up and went over to Louis.

"So, I just have to hold hands with you and go down to the lobby" Christy explained, pulling Louis up from his seat.

"Really? What if I had chosen West then?" Louis asked. He was really excited on the concept of holding Christy's hands and walking down the lobby.

"Then, I would have to hug you for 10 seconds" Christy replied.

"I choose West please" Louis whined.

Christy shook her head, "No, it's too late"

While in the elevator, Louis continued pleading for West.

"Do you like me that much?" Christy asked Louis, raising her eyebrows. "Get yourself together" She chided as they stepped out of the elevator.

The employees in the lobby were wide eyed in shock seeing their non smiling CEO holding hands with Christy. The males that had made futile attempts to get Christy's attention and the Ladies that had a crush on the CEO were so green eyed with envy. On the other hand, the lovers of those jealous employees were happy that their supposed rivals are now out of the picture.

"Please, excuse me" Louis said to Christy and quietly walked over to his secretary. They were already back from their stroll and were in front of Louis's office now. He gave the secretary some instructions and went into his office.

Christy was already sitted, backing the door and so she didn't notice when Louis entered. Louis tickled Christy from behind.

"Oh! Stop" Christy exclaimed, smiling on seeing who it was.

"Can you help me with something, please?" Louis asked, taking his seat beside Christy.

"What's that?" Christy retorted, turning to face Louis.

"Okay...How do I look?" Louis asked. He wanted to know if Ken's suggestion on how to win Christy over would work.

"Are you joking right now?"

"No. I'm totally serious" Louis replied.

"Okay, let's see... You're fair in complexion, round faced and has an unusual pointed nose" Christy said and pulled his nose playfully. "Your ears are okay. You have very small eyes that could be mistaken for a cat's" Christy continued. She looked at each part as she described it, turning his face while holding his chin. If only she knew how restless she made Louis by touching his face that way.

Christy's gaze flew to Louis's lips and he held his breath.

"Your lips are..." Christy was still saying when Louis's self control faded and he held her face firmly and captured her lips in his. He kissed her intently. Christy was shocked at the kind of urgency in the kiss and slowly she began to respond. Before she knew it, her hands had gone to Louis's head, urging him on. Louis's hands that were on her face went down to her waist and a few seconds later, the hands were already on Christy's butt, crushing her body to his.

Christy on her own part, was trying very hard to explore Louis's mouth when suddenly, her sanity returned and she pulled away and ran out of the office.

Louis was so unhappy. He continued blaming himself for what happened until Ken entered his office.

"Ken, Thank God you're here"

"Hold your horses. What's wrong?" Ken asked. He was surprised to see Louis looking so anxious.

"I did what you told me...and I lost control and... I kissed Christy and she ran out of the office. She might never want to see me again" Louis explained

"Did you force her?" Ken asked

"No. She responded to the kiss"

"Congrats Bro. Just give her some time. You have her phone number, right?" Ken inquired.

"No, but I can get it from my secretary" Louis said.

"Good. Call her this night, apologize for the kiss and then let her know how much you love her and ask her to be your girlfriend. Bam!" Ken concluded, feeling pleased with himself.

"Are you sure this will work" Louis was still sceptical about the whole thing.

"Of course. By the way, I came to tell you that your entrance result is out and you passed. So by next year, you'll be in United States of America studying your dream course, Aeronautical Engineering" Ken said happily.

"That's not my headache now. I need to get Christy to agree to be my girlfriend before anything else" Louis stated.

Some weeks later, Valentino and Valentine had written their final exams and they now accompany their Dad to his company or their Mom, on very rare occasions, to her boutique though halfheartedly.

"Mom, we're not going to the boutique today" Valentine sulked.

"Look at you. We're not talking about whether you're going there or not. We're talking about how you went there" Bianca retorted.

"Chris, take a day off and go with Mom please" Valentine pleaded. "Tino, say something now. Why are you letting me do all the talking?"

"I'm not going to the boutique today and that's final" Valentino said, firmly. He could be strong headed at times.

"Oh! Really? We'll know who says what happens in this house...You or Me?" Bianca said, fuming.

"Mom, you should give Tino and Val some space please" Christy chipped in, trying to see reasons with their Mom.

"Hey! What's going on here?" It was Valerian, their Dad.

Sobbing quietly, Bianca said, "Honey, can you imagine? These kids have ganged up against me"

"What?" Their Dad exclaimed and flew to Bianca's side and started patting her back. "It's okay. I'm here now" He said and discreetly winked at his Kids behind her back.
