After Sunday mass for Catholics at Mavens' college, the labour master, Mr. Jeff scouted the school for untidy areas and assigned the students to them. Valentino, who was supposed to supervise the students as the labour prefect was seen lazying about.
"Hey! Twinnie" The Labour master called out to Valentino. "Are you Valentino, the labour prefect?" No one in the school could differentiate between the two.
"No Sir. I'm Valentine" Valentino lied. He wanted to dodge doing his duty.
"So, where's Valentino?" The Labour master prodded on.
"Uh! He's sick" Valentino continued in his blatant lies.
"Sick? Today of all days? Come and stand in for him. I need to go supervise the students at the other side" The Labour master ordered.
"Sir, please I can't" Valentino pleaded.
"Why?"
Valentino scratched his head trying to think of a suitable lie.
"Infact, get out. Go and call your brother for me" The Labour master finally instructed Valentino.
"Sir, I don't think Valentino will be able to stand up. The nurses in the sick bay said his body temperature is very high and as a result..." Valentino was still lying when The poor Labour master walked away fuming.
"Tino, where are you coming from? Please, hurry up and wash that flask" Valentine said to Valentino as he stepped into their room.
"Please, I don't have that kind of strength right now. I've used up all my energy in lying" Valentino said as he sat down heavily on his bed.
"What happened?" Valentine asked excitedly, putting down their school sandals and the shoe polish he had in his hand.
"I ran into B.O.B right now" Valentino started
"Beast of Burden? What did he say?" Valentine cut in.
"He was looking for me but I played a fast one on him and made him think that I'm Valentine and that Valentino is sick" Valentino explained.
The twins burst into laughter and almost immediately, Elvis barged into the room.
"Elvis, what is it?" They asked simultaneously, scared out of their wits.
"You need to ring the bell now, Valentine. It's already Visiting time" Elvis reminded.
Valentine is the school's regulator.
"OMG!" Valentine shouted and rushed out to ring the bell. Almost on cue, visitors streamed into the school. Those that weren't expecting any visitors were sleeping soundly on their beds, waiting to devour the food brought by the relatives of their friends that were visited.
"Val, is it not high time we went to look for our visitors" Valentino pointed out.
"Don't worry. Those on "Ask Me" duty will call us" Valentine replied nonchalantly.
Those on "Ask me" duty are a set of hand picked students that will go about helping the visitors to locate the students they wanted to see faster and more conveniently.
"Are you not among those "Ask me" people? What are you doing here? Do you think the others will do their work when you're here lying down?" Valentino asked.
"Please, don't disturb me" Valentine retorted.
Outside the dormitory, Sam and one other boy were discussing when Christy walked past them in a white crop top with Jean trousers. Her white sneakers and handbag complemented her overall look.
"Is she not the girl in the twin's phone?" Sam pointed out.
"Damn, she's more beautiful in person" The other boy commented.
"I'm going to ask her who she's looking for" Sam said and stalked towards Christy. The other boys had now crowded at the veranda, bubbling with excitement thinking that Sam was going to ask Christy out.
"Excuse me please. Who are you looking for?" Sam asked, looking so innocent and harmless.
"Valentino and Valentine. Final year students"
"Okay. Please wait here. I'll go in and fetch them" Sam said and headed straight to the twins room to inform them that they have a visitor.
"Twinnie, someone is looking for you outside" Sam announced. Valentino gave him a deaf ear.
"You again?" Valentine asked, looking Sam all over.
"I'm serious. It's that same girl in the pictures. She's outside the dormitory" Sam reassured.
The twins needed no second invitation and in the next instant, they ran out of the dormitory.
"Chris!" The twins exclaimed and hugged Christy. They were so happy to see her.
"Let's go to somewhere more private. Your classmates are staring" Christy pointed out, feeling really uncomfortable.
The twins took Christy to a hall that was mapped out as the Visiting hall, where you would sit at a table with your visitors.
"I told Dad that visiting you guys is a bad idea" Christy complained with an understanding smile on her face when she got tired of the barrage of questions the twins threw at her.
"Dad?" Valentine asked.
"Yes. He got back a few days ago" Christy informed.
"Yeah!" Valentino shouted and Valentine jumped up in ecstasy.
"Elvis?" Valentino called out.
"I'm here" Elvis had tucked himself away since Christy came. He often got shy in front of women.
"Elvis, meet our Elder sister, Christy and Chris... He's our buddy and roommate, Elvis" Valentino introduced.
"Nice to meet you" Christy said with a smile and stretched out her hand for a handshake.
Elvis slowly stretched out his hand but on seeing the daggers in the twins' eyes, he suddenly withdrew and left.
Then Valentine introduced their other roommate, Williams the bookworm to Christy before they finally continued their discussion.
"Tino, Dad removed your favourite TV channels from the decoder" Christy announced.
"What?" Valentine had stopped midway in his act of opening a steaming flask of Fried rice and chicken. Valentine has such a great affinity to food yet he doesn't get fat. Valentino just stared at Christy wide-eyed in shock.
"You're joking right?" Valentino asked, still finding it difficult to believe what he just heard.
"I'm serious. But the good news is that you can watch the updates from your phones. Come on, don't spoil the mood" Christy grinned and urged them on.
"We don't have mobile data and we don't know the school's wifi password" Valentine pointed out.
"Uh! So bad. You can ask Dad to subscribe your phones" Christy advised.
"Then, he'll find out that we're with phones while in school" Valentino sulked.
"Fine. You can watch them from my phone" Christy offered.
"Thanks, Big Sis" The twins' faces brightened up.
Later on, the twins told Christy about the picture incident but she didn't feel so bad about it like they thought she would.
