Chapter My phone rang for too long and I wasn’t in the mood to talk to her as I already knew who it was. It was ma’am Helena.

“ My mother was a very rigid and stubborn woman who goes out of her way to achieve anything she wanted for herself .”

And sometimes she sees me as a weakling, but within me. I knew i wasn't a weakling. I was just a guy who loves simplicity and likes acting crazy sometimes. I was not that kind of regular guy who takes life seriously . But my mother was just a controlling freak, who likes detecting everything for me. Despite the fact that i am calm , strong, strict and zealous with what i do, and i hate being manipulated.

My phone kept on ringing and it would be inappropriate of me to decline her call. I sluggisshly picked my phone and answered her.

“ Hello....!!

Her voice was so audible that i nearly became deaf by the sound of her thunderous voice .

“ Helllo..... jing can you hear me ?

I had to relax my nerves and clear my throat as i gathered momentum to speak .

Yes mum i can hear you.

Very well then, i need you to come inside, we need to talk right now and it’s very important.

I hunged up the call and stood up as i walked through the balcony . To my amazement i saw different kind of high prolific men and women coming into our home. I kept wondering why the place was so populated and why the staffs were running up and down,engaging in one task or the other. Immediately i ran up following the staircase cause i needed my mum to give me the perfect explaination of what was happening . I got to my mum’s room and knocked on her door

Then i heard someone opening her door, behold it was my mother, she gave me a very heart felt hug, her perfume engulfed me completely that i could’nt withold myself but to complement her

“ mum you really look so beautiful tonight,i must confess.

My mum smiled at me. Her smiles made her glowing, looking younger than her age. Hey mum you are blushing, i caught you right there! her dimples became so obvious

Naugty boy, she touched my chin and asked me to sit.

I sat down, looking so perplexed as i watched her speak.

Son am so shock seeing you in these rags that you are wearing, i wonder what you are up to . You should know that today is a very big day.

If i may ask mum, what is really going on? Cause i saw some people coming into these place, looking so sophisticated . Yes son, those are your father’s business associate and also my friends.

“ Am sorry that i wont be part of today’s show but be rest assured that you are covered,am going to invite my friend to replace me”.
