The atmosphere in the car was cold. Lily Hart wanted to discuss something with Ethan Cole, but she didn't know how to bring it up. She was curious whether Ethan Cole and her mother had talked about it in the study. She asked casually, "What dis you and Mrs.Cole talked just now?" Ethan Cole responded, "nothing." Lily Hart said, "Actually, I wanted to talk about this..." She had just started to speak when Ethan Cole's phone rang. He slowly withdrew his gaze from Lily Hart and answered the call. Not knowing who was calling, he responded very briefly, his eyes falling on the view outside the window, his profile exuding a cold indifference. After hanging up the phone, Ethan Cole instructed the driver to pull over. Once the car had come to a stop, Lily Hart heard his indifferent voice: "Get out. I have some matters to attend to. A car will come to pick you up later." Seeing that he was determined to send her away, Lily Hart thought it was useless to say anything more. She got out of the car with her belongings, and the car sped away as soon as the door closed. It was already midnight, and the streets were deserted. Lily Hart stood at the side of the road, feeling the cold wind blow through her thin sweater. She regretted not bringing a jacket when she left. She had no choice but to call a taxi. She took out her phone and found that there was no signal. She walked along the road, looking for a signal, and finally, the signal returned, and she successfully called a taxi. When she got home, the house was brightly lit, and she saw Mrs. Johnson, whom she had dismissed, in the kitchen. Alarmed, she turned to look at Clara Thompson, who was standing in the living room, shaking her head helplessly. Lily Hart walked over to her and asked in a low voice, "What's going on?" Clara Thompson also lowered her voice: "Mrs. Johnson went to cry to Madame Cole, saying that she had worked for the Cole family for so many years and didn't want to leave. Madame Cole brought her back. Dinner is ready. I'll go and tell her you're back." Lily Hart stopped her: "Don't tell her. I'm not hungry. I'll eat it myself later." Clara Thompson went upstairs, and Lily Hart warmed up the meal in the microwave. She saw that the portions were large and there were many ingredients that she didn't like. She decided to remind Mrs. Johnson not to be too extravagant. She didn't expect Ethan Cole to come back at all, but after a few days, he still hadn't returned. She also saw the news about him on TV. Even after returning home, he was still busy every day, and he made quite a stir on Wall Street. People who understood finance were discussing what impact his return would have on the market. It wasn't just the media that was paying attention to him. Even some of her colleagues at the hospital were talking about him. "He was on the news again today! My goodness, I'm not a financial expert, but I did major in finance in college. Listening to his analysis, I feel like I'm listening to a professor's lecture." Another colleague said, "He looks so good on TV. Did you see the news about his marriage? I heard that he married a doctor." "So he's married? That's too bad. I thought I still had a chance," another female colleague said with a sigh. They looked at Lily Hart sympathetically: "Lily, did you hear that? You're also a doctor. You'll have more competition in the future." Lily Hart smiled: "There's no competition. We're in different fields." Sophia Lee, who had just arrived at the table, said, "I saw the bride's photo. She looks beautiful and wealthy. She seems to be a socialite." Another colleague said, "She looks a bit like Lily, doesn't she?" Sophia Lee smiled: "What do you mean? How could Lily marry into a rich family?" As the atmosphere became awkward, Lily Hart said with a smile, "Yes, it does look a bit like me. Maybe she's my illegitimate sister." Everyone laughed, and the topic changed. Lily Hart was finished eating and left the table. Sophia Lee didn't get along well with anyone at the table. She was the daughter of a senior manager of a hospital supplier. She was always jealous of Lily Hart because she was smarter and more promising than her. She seemed to be telling everyone that she was superior to Lily Hart. Lily Hart didn't care. She had always gotten along well with everyone at the hospital, except for Sophia Lee. She knew that Sophia Lee's family had spent a lot of money to get her into the hospital, but she still couldn't compare to Lily Hart, who had outstanding grades and was loved by professors, patients, and colleagues. Lily Hart went to her office, and as soon as she sat down, she received a call from Margaret Cole. "Have you talked to Ethan?" Lily Hart answered honestly, "He hasn't been home for the past few days." Margaret Cole was silent for a while: "You two are really..." She probably thought they were playing tricks on her and didn't want to discuss it with her, so she changed the subject: "When will he come back? I called the company, and they said he hasn't gone to work either." Lily Hart didn't know how to answer her. She didn't even know where Ethan Cole was. Margaret Cole, feeling annoyed, hung up the phone. In the evening, when Lily Hart got off work, Mrs. Johnson had already prepared a sumptuous dinner with a table full of dishes. However, there were many ingredients that Lily Hart didn't like, such as eggplant and bamboo shoots. Lily Hart asked her to make a little less, but she argued, "Even if you don't eat, the Young Master still needs to eat." "He can't eat twelve dishes by himself." Lily Hart is a very good-tempered person. If someone treats her well, she wants to repay them tenfold. She doesn't like to have conflicts with people, and as long as things aren't too excessive, she won't make things difficult. But once she closes her heart to someone, it's very hard to open it again. "I don't need you to be frugal, but don't be too wasteful either." Mrs. Johnson muttered softly, "It's all the Young Master's money being spent, making food for him isn't wasteful." Lily Hart ate her meal slowly, "My hearing is fine. If you want to grumble, do it further away." Mrs. Johnson then fell silent. As they were about to finish eating, Ethan Cole still hadn't come back. Mrs. Johnson glanced towards the door several times and couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you going to call the Young Master? It's been several days, isn't he coming home today?" Lily Hart: "If you miss him so much, why don't you call him yourself?" Mrs. Johnson looked embarrassed, "That's not what I meant..." Suddenly, the sound of a car came from the yard. Mrs. Johnson was delighted, "Is the Young Master back?" She hurriedly ran to open the door, and Lily Hart's gaze followed towards the door. Mrs. Johnson opened the door, and the driver, Mr. Smith, was holding a cardboard box. From a distance, he called out to Lily Hart, "Madam, you left something in the car the other day. The Young Master asked me to bring it back to you." "Just leave it there." Mr. Smith put the box at the door and didn't come in. As he was about to turn and leave, Lily Hart asked again, "Where has he been staying these past few days?
